On March 13th, I had booked the Nashville, Tennessee KOA. My RV broke down while I was driving, so I contacted them to cancel because I wasn't going to make it. I understood I'd lose my deposit. When they told me the deposit was 153 dollars, the cost of a full night's stay, I was shocked. On top of being stranded with repair bills over 5,000 dollars, I got charged for a campsite I never used. I drove a rental car back home and passed by the Nashville KOA on the way. The place was practically empty, so clearly my cancellation didn't prevent them from making money. They mentioned their seven day cancellation policy, which I find ridiculous. You can't control when your vehicle breaks down on the road. I'm done with my membership and would encourage others to carefully review their policies before signing up. There are tons of quality campgrounds across the country. Goodbye KOA.
