What Shoppers Say About La Roche-Posay
La Roche-Posay receives polarized feedback, with shoppers either strongly satisfied or deeply dissatisfied. Those who praise the brand highlight specific products, particularly the double repair and matte facial moisturizers, which users commend for their non-greasy feel and effectiveness on combination skin. The Anthelios sunscreen line also draws positive mentions for sun protection and coverage quality. However, a substantial portion of reviewers report significant frustrations: product reformulations (particularly increased alcohol content in sunscreens) that trigger skin reactions, difficulty locating previously available items like the Anthelios Ultra Cover SPF 60 in the U.S. market, and serious customer service complaints including unresponsive staff, poor product knowledge, and unresolved refund issues.
The brand appears to struggle most with customer service operations and product availability consistency. Reviewers note that staff in retail environments lack adequate product knowledge and work in conditions that hinder communication, while online customers report prolonged refund delays and unresolved complaints. Reformulation decisions, particularly regarding alcohol content in sunscreen formulas, have alienated customers with sensitive or reactive skin types who previously relied on the products.

Sorted by: Most recentI'm based in the U.S. now and I've been hunting for a product from your Brazilian collection that I absolutely loved: the Anthelios Ultra Cover SPF 60, High Coverage Tinted Sunscreen in shade 3.0. This product is ideal for my skin because it provides serious sun protection and doubles as a foundation with excellent coverage. The consistency is thick and luxurious, and it gives a polished finish just like makeup. I tested the Light Cover option, but it wasn't for me. The coverage felt too sheer and didn't deliver what I needed. The Ultra Cover is special because of that heavier feel and the makeup-like result it creates. Since relocating to the U.S., I haven't been able to track down this specific version anywhere, whether in stores or online. I'd really appreciate if you could tell me if this item goes by a different name here in the states, whether I can purchase it through international shipping, or if there's an American version that offers the same high coverage and performance.
Please stop adding so much alcohol to your sunscreens. It's nearly impossible to find a single sunscreen in Europe that doesn't have massive amounts of denatured alcohol, and it's terrible for people whose skin reacts to it. I loved your Anthelios UVMune 400 Invisible Fluid Spf50+, but ever since you started putting alcohol in it, my skin has suffered. Using it causes painful cystic acne on my cheeks and whiteheads on my nose and forehead. I'm certain it's this product because my skin clears up the moment I stop using it. Please change the formula or I won't be able to buy your sunscreen anymore.
I'm talking about the customer service experience. The staff works in a super loud environment so you can barely hear anything they're saying, and they seem clueless about the actual products without looking everything up. This is a skincare brand, so you'd think they'd hire people who actually know what they're selling. It's a textbook case of putting profits over people.
Their double repair and matte facial moisturizers are fantastic. I love them both. They don't feel greasy at all and they work wonderfully on my combination skin.
The customer service here is absolutely dreadful. They refused to fix a problem their own team admitted they caused, and this lack of help continued throughout the entire process. It was incredibly frustrating. I'm still waiting on my refund and I have no intention of shopping with them again.
I decided to order straight from the brand using my phone and Apple Pay. Right after the order went through, I saw the shipping address was wrong, though my billing information was correct. I called customer service within minutes. Unfortunately, the menu doesn't work properly on mobile phones, so I had to use a desk phone instead. The representative told me there was absolutely nothing she could do. She couldn't update the address and she couldn't cancel the order so I could place a new one. I'd already been charged and had no guarantee I'd get my items. When I asked for a manager, she refused. Yes, I made a mistake, but most companies would help you fix the address or let you cancel and reorder. I work in e-commerce and I know plenty of places that handle this properly. That's what real customer service looks like. Nobody's perfect and we all need the chance to correct our mistakes.
I use these products every single day and have nothing but positive things to say. This brand really does its homework before launching anything, and what stands out most is how many different products they offer for various skin needs. Whether you're looking for something lighter like an emulsion, a traditional moisturizer, or specially formulated items for oily skin, they've got you covered. My skin is on the drier side, and their moisturizer works perfectly for me. It's clear why they're considered one of the top names in skincare.
The iPhone site doesn't work properly. They lure you in with a 20% discount and then charge your credit card multiple times even though the order never goes through. You get an error message about an invalid card, but the charges still hit your account. The site also requests your address but won't let you enter it. The customer service reps have no clue how to help and just keep spouting off the same unhelpful lines. I waited over 40 minutes trying to reach a supervisor with no luck.
This brand delivers on its promise. Their dermatologist-backed products really do work, especially for combination skin like mine that deals with oiliness, dryness, and breakouts all at once. I wanted products that would clear up my acne and help my skin look better, and that's exactly what happened. After just one week of regular use, my skin felt more hydrated and my breakouts were noticeably less severe. By the second week, the oily spots calmed down significantly and the acne improved dramatically. I'm sticking with this routine because it's clearly working. I'm grateful this brand came through for me.
