What Shoppers Say About LE CHÂTEAU
LE CHÂTEAU is rated 1.7 out of 5 by 23 shoppers, with 74 percent of reviews giving it one star. The most serious recurring issues involve billing problems, including duplicate charges, overcharges, and refunds that never arrive. Customers report orders stuck in processing for weeks or months without shipping notifications, incomplete deliveries where only some items arrive, and customer service that is unresponsive to emails and phone calls. Multiple reviewers describe their experience as a scam and express concerns about payment security and fraud.
While a small minority of shoppers report positive experiences, the overwhelming pattern of complaints centers on operational failures: inventory mismanagement, fulfillment delays extending beyond 30 days, billing errors, and a non-functional customer service system. Shoppers emphasize that the financial risk and time invested in resolving disputes outweigh any benefit from sales or discounts.

Sorted by: Most recentGetting nowhere with my order from almost a month ago. One of the 2 items arrived quickly and was great. But I'm still waiting for the other one. Emailed multiple times and they answered once saying shipping might be delayed. Called them and they basically brushed me off. Some lady said it was coming from a different warehouse and she'd email them to ship it. Another week passed and it's still showing as processing. Not happy at all.
Don't buy anything online from here. I ordered several items 3 weeks ago and nothing has arrived. Customer service keeps giving me different stories about where my order is, and they just blame Canada Post for everything. The items haven't even shipped yet but they refuse to cancel my order. They're basically ripping people off to grab whatever cash they can before shutting down. Skip this and save yourself the headache.
The dresses and tops here are stylish, I'll give them that. But the prices are way too high, and honestly their closing down sale isn't even that cheap. Even basic looking tops start at $35, which isn't much of a deal for a store shutting its doors. It was a nice classy place while it lasted and I wish they'd stayed open because they had good potential with their selection. Just too expensive to shop there often.
Got a coat online and the zipper is stuck completely. They won't take it back or give me a refund. No surprise they're going out of business.
Customer service here is basically non-existent. They claim you can return items for an $8.95 flat fee and get a return label within 1-2 business days, but that's a lie. I made my return request and nothing happened for a week. Then I tried contacting them - no phone answer, no website response, no email replies. Fed up with waiting as my return deadline approached, I shipped my own items back at my own cost, about $40 total. They got the packages but haven't refunded me anything. Weeks later I finally get the return label in the mail. They clearly don't care about customer service anymore with bankruptcy looming. I'm out the money.
Definitely buy in-store only. I made the mistake of ordering shoes online that should have shipped in 1-2 days. That never happened. For weeks I got emails saying they're looking for my item. Finally after two weeks I got a shipping notification and got excited - at least it arrived 3 days early. Opened the box and couldn't believe it. The heels were totally scuffed up on the bottom, obviously worn multiple times, and one heel was literally broken off. Can't get anyone on the phone. Sent pictures via email and am still waiting to hear back. Don't order online from this place.
Gift card fraud. I got a gift card for my birthday in October with no expiration date on it. Tried to use it for the boxing day sale and found out their new policy means they won't accept it anymore. My husband wasn't told about this policy when he bought it for me. I spent two hours picking items and now we're out $150. They basically stole our money.
A large order of mine got stuck at Canada Post because the package was empty. They told me to contact customer service about an insurance claim and refund. Couldn't reach anyone at any of their numbers. Emailed and left voicemails with nothing back. UPDATE: Finally got an email response weeks later saying a return credit should hit my account. We'll see if that actually happens.
Worst customer service I've experienced. Ordered a dress online that arrived with a belt that didn't match the dress size. Spent 40 minutes on the phone with an agent who said she'd email me a return label, but then told me I had to place a new order first and send her the receipt so she could price match it since the dress was on a huge sale. I placed the new order waiting to hear back. Never got a single call or email response.
Getting a return processed here is way harder than it should be. Finally got help through social media when someone forwarded my info to the right department. The rest of the process has been a nightmare - terrible customer service on online orders, impossible to reach anyone by phone, no email responses, and their social media just keeps apologizing. This explains why they're closing. Complete waste of time and frustration.
