What Shoppers Say About LI
LI (Lime) is rated 1.2 out of 5 by 19 shoppers, with the vast majority reporting serious issues. Common complaints center on billing problems: shoppers report unexpected overcharges, being charged for rides they did not complete, and charges appearing on their accounts without clear explanation. Beyond billing, reviewers describe frequent mechanical failures, including scooters that will not start despite showing full battery and bikes that remain active in the system even after being reported as damaged. Several shoppers also report frustration with the app's parking validation system, which prevents ride completion in certain zones and creates situations where they feel forced to abandon scooters or face unknown charges.
A small minority of shoppers gave positive ratings, but the overwhelmingly negative feedback suggests fundamental operational problems. Reviewers express frustration with customer support's inability or unwillingness to resolve billing disputes and provide promised refunds or discounts. The combination of unreliable equipment, unexpected charges, and poor service recovery has left most recent reviewers unwilling to use the service again.

Sorted by: Most recentMy Lime scooter experience in London was a mess. The navigation kept malfunctioning and the scooter hardly accelerated, probably working less than 20% of the time. I had no choice but to return to my starting parking area since it wouldn't let me drop off anywhere else. My friend managed to park hers at another spot along the same route, but mine wouldn't accept that location. The app glitched so badly I couldn't even submit a one star rating after my trip. Just don't use this.
I live in New Zealand where you're required to wear a helmet when riding a bike or scooter. Rented a bike through the app but the helmet was stuck locked to it. Called support and they literally told me to just ride without one. Not an option for me, so I went searching for another bike. Found one but the helmet was locked to that one too. Called them back for a 25 minute conversation where they finally admitted there's a broken helmet unlock mechanism. They charged me for both bikes even though I never actually rode either one.
Fed up with Lime bikes piled all over our tiny residential street in London. Our neighborhood only has 26 houses and every morning we navigate around these massive bright green bikes dumped in the middle of the sidewalk. Two yesterday, three today. Pick up your trash and stop clogging our street.
Tons of problems with these scooters. The app decides to stop working after you walk to your bike. You get hit with constant error messages. The worst part is the £10 payment holds that take days to release. My actual ride only cost £2. They need to get their act together.
The scooter itself was fine, though the speed limiting feature took some getting used to. That said, it cost roughly three times what a bus ticket would've been. The bigger problem? My destination had another Lime scooter right there, but the app forced me to ride way out of my way to drop it off. Got charged for every single minute of that forced detour too.
Grabbed an ebike on the Gold Coast and got hit with double charges. I'd paid for the hourly pass but ended up with an extra $22 on top of the $9.99 I'd already paid. Their customer service is terrible. This is my last time using their service.
Would give zero stars if possible. The pricing is outrageous, the app is useless and only suggests one parking location, and customer support doesn't exist. I couldn't end my ride for 10 minutes even though I was standing in the designated parking area. Eventually found a hidden menu option to end it and report the issue, but they still charged me. Seriously, stay away from this company.
First time using Lime in Copenhagen. We rented two scooters and one was nearly dead. You can't end your ride just anywhere in the city, has to be a specific parking zone. We had to ride for over 20 minutes on fumes to find an approved parking spot. Still charged the full price for that.
I've been a Lime user for about a year now, using them both locally and on trips abroad. Really happy with everything about them. The rates are fair, their support team is solid, and the scooters are well made and always available when you need them. Definitely deserves a perfect score.
