In the end they offered me $20.25. Here's what you need to know: they have total control and can slash your device's value however they want. Your other option is paying to ship it back. My advice is simple: don't bother trading in your device with them.

The base was also bent in a corner, which should've been caught during the battery installation. But the real problem was the display cover, which had damage in both top corners so serious that the lid wouldn't shut right. I'm really let down that this item made it out of their facility in that kind of shape. It's totally damaged my faith in ordering from them again.
