What Shoppers Say About Masseys
Masseys is rated 1.6 out of 5 by 14 shoppers, with the vast majority reporting serious problems. Common complaints include unexpected credit requirements and deposit demands that contradict advertised terms, high return shipping costs combined with processing fees that eat into refunds, defective products (incomplete shipments, damaged packaging, counterfeit items), and poor customer service marked by order cancellations without explanation or communication. The few positive experiences mention smooth initial ordering and credit approval processes, but these are vastly outweighed by complaints about misleading practices and operational failures.
Shoppers emphasize caution before ordering, particularly regarding the true cost of returns and the risk of receiving damaged or counterfeit merchandise. The combination of advertised benefits that don't materialize, unexpected fees, and unresponsive customer service creates a pattern of dissatisfaction that dominates customer feedback.

Sorted by: Most recentYou advertise in your catalog that you're giving $300 in credit. I place my first order and you accept it. Then I get my items, return what doesn't fit, and while I'm waiting for you to process the return you suddenly say I need to put down $69 to keep shopping. That's crazy because I haven't even made my first payment yet and that's not due for another month. This is terrible business practice. Honor what you promised when you offered that credit.
Be really careful if you order anything from here. Returning items is ridiculously expensive. You pay to get your stuff shipped to you initially, then if you want to send it back you have to pay for the return shipping label yourself. On top of that they hit you with another charge just for processing the return. All together you could be looking at losing 35 to 45 percent of what you spent. They make returning anything nearly impossible and super pricey. It's way too risky to order online from them when you can't guarantee something will work out. Won't be ordering here again.
I ordered some Sketchers shoes and the ordering process was fine. When FedEx delivered it though, the box was pretty beat up. That happens sometimes, so I wasn't too worried. But when I got it open, the shoe box was totally ruined and there was only a left shoe inside. Just one shoe! I called customer service and explained what happened with my order. Eventually I got through to someone in the US who was actually helpful. After some back and forth they refunded my money. That said, Masseys seems like they're heading downhill. I've been ordering from them for years and this isn't the only problem I've had. This is my last order.
I bought 2 designer perfumes and guess what - they're FAKE! I spent $150 on one bottle and $200 on the other one. Total waste of money. Don't shop here!!
Without any explanation or heads up, they just cancelled my order. Zero communication, zero effort to let me know what happened. It's honestly unbelievable how careless they are with their customers. I'm keeping it real - most businesses would at least give you the courtesy of a notification.
Everything went smoothly with my first order. They approved me for a $500 credit limit and after making a few payments I paid it off completely. They were pretty generous and bumped my limit up to $650. This month I placed a Christmas order and sent it to a different address, but kept my original one on file. Got an email the next day saying my order was cancelled. I had to wait online for about 40 minutes before finally getting a supervisor. They said they needed to verify my identity and address even though there was zero problem with that on my first order. I pointed out that they had no issues sending to my original address the first time. They didn't really care about that, but suddenly it was a big deal that I was sending it somewhere else. I offered to just buy it with my American Express card instead, which got approved immediately on their end. Then I asked them to close my account because I was done. The agent who closed it didn't even ask why I was leaving, which is pretty bad business sense since it costs way more to get new customers than to keep old ones. The next day I got an email about it, and now I'm getting notices.
They claim you have a $250 credit limit but then demand a down payment! Every single order I've placed after that they've cancelled. Don't bother wasting your time or money on this company. Try Klarna through Wayfair instead.
This is really disappointing. I bought what they said was a 14k gold necklace, but it turned my skin black which means it was completely fake. To make matters worse, I still had a small balance of about $27 left on my account, and now they're telling me I owe $150. The necklace only cost $101 total. I won't be using them again and I'd recommend others stay away too. Their jewelry quality is garbage.
This place is awful. I've shopped at their sister sites for a year and never missed a payment. I applied for credit to buy some sale items and they ran a hard credit check and gave me approval. After I shopped and charged it to the approved credit, they suddenly declined it and demanded full payment right away. I called and spoke with two supervisors from their credit department. They told me that because I'd shopped their sister sites and purchased quite a bit, they felt I'd bought too much in just 15 days. Are you serious? I took advantage of free shipping and 40% off sales and they're upset I shopped too much? I'm over 60 years old and I've never seen anything like this in my life. I even used a promotional coupon they mailed me for an extra 25% off for my one year anniversary. One supervisor couldn't handle it and wasn't able to override anything, though she was at least polite. The other one went on about their three tier system that tracks how much customers buy and then hung up on me. Regular stores like Macy's reward me with platinum membership status.
I placed an order on a specific date and was charged $60.47 from my credit card. The next day they cancelled it without explanation. I called and talked to several representatives including supervisors, and none of them would explain why they charged my card and then cancelled the order. Two of the reps I spoke with were incredibly rude and unhelpful. I asked one supervisor why this happened and even after talking to five different people nobody could give me an answer. All I got was terrible attitudes from everyone. When I told the supervisor I'd be filing a complaint with the BBB, she basically said whatever with no concern at all. I have recordings of these conversations.
