Master & Dynamic Reviews
What Shoppers Say About Master & Dynamic
Master & Dynamic products receive overwhelmingly negative reviews, with shoppers rating the store 1.8 out of 5 based on 23 reviews. The most consistent complaint centers on customer service: reviewers report slow or nonexistent email responses, delayed shipping notifications, and refusals to honor warranty claims even for products purchased through authorized retailers. Several shoppers describe the support team as unprofessional and unresponsive, with some waiting weeks for replies to support requests. On the product side, while some reviewers praise the design, build quality, and sound of Master & Dynamic headphones and earbuds, durability emerges as a serious concern. Multiple shoppers report devices breaking after the warranty expires or while still under warranty, and the company's refusal to offer paid repair services for out-of-warranty items frustrates customers who otherwise value the products.
The few positive aspects mentioned focus on aesthetics and audio performance: reviewers acknowledge the premium look and feel of the hardware, and some praise how the products sound. However, these strengths are vastly outweighed by reports of quality issues, prohibitively difficult warranty processes, and customer service that fails to respond to basic inquiries or resolve disputes. The combination of durability problems and inadequate post-sale support has led shoppers to recommend against purchasing from Master & Dynamic.

Sorted by: Most recentGot a pair of M 75 headphones back in 2023. Now that the warranty is up, I'm having charging issues, and the company won't do any repairs on out of warranty items. They want me to take it somewhere else for a battery replacement. Why can't they do their own repairs and let people pay for it? Their responses to my emails have been pretty lackluster. I'd really recommend staying away from this company.
I'm disappointed. I really love the way M&D over ear headphones look, feel, and sound. I've actually purchased three pairs as gifts and one pair of earbuds for myself. Unfortunately, something always breaks after a while. The design and appearance are great, the price is mid to high range, but the technology is underwhelming. The wired MH40s sound excellent with warm tones and really deep bass around 18hz, but after about a year the ear pads deteriorated. The company had discontinued replacements by changing the magnet polarity in newer pads, which feels intentional and sneaky, like something Apple would do. I wanted to give them another try so I bought the MW07 earbuds for commuting, but the battery life is only about 40 minutes before the low battery notification kicks in and ruins the experience. The sound is good overall with punchy low end, but the treble gets harsh and thin in the 6k and above range compared to everything else in my studio setup. There's no app or equalizer for these earbuds either.
Purchased their sport ear buds and they showed up broken right out of the box. The company flat out refused to honor the warranty, claiming I bought them from a non authorized seller even though it was from a major UK tech and fashion retailer. Their customer service is terrible and takes forever to respond, sometimes weeks. Don't waste your money on these products. They're cheap imports from Asia being sold as quality tech. Stay far away from this brand.
Absolutely terrible customer service. The whole team there acts unprofessional. I would not suggest purchasing anything from them under any circumstance.
Never got any shipping information for my order and haven't gotten responses despite sending numerous emails and making multiple requests through their website.
My MW65 headphones sound and feel great overall, but the power button started acting up while still under warranty. When I asked how to get it fixed, nobody responded to me. I reached out to support on September 16th, sent proof of purchase and the serial number on the 18th as requested. Since then nothing. I tried again multiple times on the 22nd hitting both their support and info addresses but got no replies. It seemed like nobody wanted to fix my headphones. Completely unacceptable for a brand claiming to be high end. UPDATE: They finally replaced the headphones. That's the level of service you should expect from a premium brand. Really grateful for the support. NEW UPDATE: The replacement headphones only last about 50 minutes after a full charge. Are you kidding? Two months later and I'm right back where I started.
I used to be a big supporter of M&D. My old MW07 Plus were fantastic headphones, honestly the best I've ever owned. But since then I got the MW75 and MW09 and they both quit while still covered by warranty. For the price point, I expected better quality and reliability.
Quality products that I keep coming back for. The company resolved an issue I had by replacing the defective pair without any hassle.
One star is generous. I bought brand new MW07 Plus earbuds still in the original sealed box off a secondary marketplace and the right earbud wouldn't charge when they arrived, which I think is a charger defect. I've purchased three MW 60 headphones before in different colors and was satisfied, so I figured the company would value keeping a returning customer. Turns out they don't care. Their response was that these are out of warranty and I should have bought from an authorized seller. Keep in mind their products are made in China and sell for three to four hundred dollars brand new from the company. That's outrageous pricing for the quality, so you'd think they'd at least try to take care of a loyal customer with repairs and service. They refused. There are tons of better options that offer superior value and customer care like JBL, Apple, and Beats. I initially chose this brand thinking they'd stand behind their customers. They don't. I can't recommend Master & Dynamic to anyone. If you look at the reviews, 71 percent gave them one star. If you're thinking about buying here, just walk away.
Professional and thorough handling from start to finish. I ordered a MG20 at the end of February and honestly I was skeptical about the site when they requested identity verification because of fraud concerns. But the support team turned out to be very legitimate and processed my order quickly after I sent the documents they asked for. I'm giving four stars instead of five mainly because the product arrived with standard shipping instead of the express option shown on the website. Otherwise the service was excellent and the customer support team responded promptly by email even with the time difference between my location and New York. Thanks very much to M&D.
