Master & Dynamic Reviews
What Shoppers Say About Master & Dynamic
Master & Dynamic products receive overwhelmingly negative reviews, with shoppers rating the store 1.8 out of 5 based on 23 reviews. The most consistent complaint centers on customer service: reviewers report slow or nonexistent email responses, delayed shipping notifications, and refusals to honor warranty claims even for products purchased through authorized retailers. Several shoppers describe the support team as unprofessional and unresponsive, with some waiting weeks for replies to support requests. On the product side, while some reviewers praise the design, build quality, and sound of Master & Dynamic headphones and earbuds, durability emerges as a serious concern. Multiple shoppers report devices breaking after the warranty expires or while still under warranty, and the company's refusal to offer paid repair services for out-of-warranty items frustrates customers who otherwise value the products.
The few positive aspects mentioned focus on aesthetics and audio performance: reviewers acknowledge the premium look and feel of the hardware, and some praise how the products sound. However, these strengths are vastly outweighed by reports of quality issues, prohibitively difficult warranty processes, and customer service that fails to respond to basic inquiries or resolve disputes. The combination of durability problems and inadequate post-sale support has led shoppers to recommend against purchasing from Master & Dynamic.

Sorted by: Most recentPurchased two MA-770 speakers at full price back in 2021. After just over two years, one quit working. I looked at Master & Dynamic's website which stated they offer out of warranty repairs for a fee. When I reached out, here's what they told me: they can't fix it and they removed that repair option from their website because it was posted in error. So now I own a twelve hundred dollar speaker that worked for two years and nobody will fix it. Not worth buying from them.
Skip this company. I wish I'd read reviews before ordering. Bought headphones for Christmas, sent back a pair in early January, and even though the delivery was confirmed on January 3rd, I'm still waiting for my refund as of February 3rd. Every time I contact them about it, customer service blames warehouse problems. It's been incredibly annoying. Find another brand.
I'm incredibly frustrated and let down by Master & Dynamic. My order from late November has been an absolute nightmare. I still haven't gotten my headphones, and the company refuses to be clear about when they'll arrive. I've sent multiple emails to their support team and all I get back are vague apologies and promises they're working on it. To make matters worse, they emailed this morning with marketing about orders shipping by a certain date, but my order placed well before that cutoff still doesn't have a confirmed arrival date. This kind of misleading messaging is unprofessional and dishonest. It makes me wonder if the company is in financial trouble because this is exactly what some struggling businesses do: take money upfront without any real plan to deliver. It's really concerning and feels like a betrayal of customer trust.
I fell for the marketing and positive reviews for the M&D mw65 and splurged on what I thought was a quality product. After only three years of light use, the ear cups are literally falling off and coming apart at the seams. Contacted M&D about what appears to be a manufacturing defect and they only wanted to sell me new ones. When I asked about other options, they wouldn't budge and I ended up having to buy replacements. I even reached out to the company founder and owner, nothing back. I have AKG headphones from ten years ago that still look and work like the day I bought them. I know where my money is going from now on, and it's not with M&D.
Don't get these headphones. The customer service reps are totally unprofessional. Wish I'd looked at reviews beforehand. On top of everything else, they didn't include the invoice in the package for customs clearance and customs kept calling me. This is not worth five hundred pounds. I still haven't received my order and based on all the negative feedback, I'm pretty sure I'll be sending it back when it arrives. Don't waste your effort. YouTube barely has any reviews for these, which tells you something. NOT WORTH IT.
Picked up the M&D MW08 in Canada for running music. The sound quality was decent, but features were pretty limited and the app was basic. Their customer service though is awful. The company has lost its way with how they treat customers. They want you to pay upfront for replacement parts that they said would be available in late October of 2022. Beginning of January came around with still nothing. Their emails are short and generic like they're coming from an entry level employee. Hard to get anyone senior to respond. Given how much competition exists in this space, there's no real reason to pick Master & Dynamic. My advice would be to look elsewhere.
Terrible product quality. The unit stopped working after just under three months. I couldn't reach anyone in their customer service department. The build quality is clearly bad and that's why they ignore customer complaints. I'm not recommending this product. You'd get better results buying cheap earphones from a discount store.
This company is disorganized with a product line that looks fancy on the surface but falls short underneath. As someone with IT and hardware engineering background, the firmware is pretty rough. The connection constantly drops out of sync. To get anything remotely stable they buffer the data, which creates a delay between what you're watching and what you're hearing. The left and right sides constantly lose connection, sometimes taking up to fifteen seconds to reconnect even when the phone is right in your hand. They advertise active noise canceling but that's marketing nonsense. Even tech reviewers on YouTube admit the noise canceling does basically nothing. The beryllium drivers sound crisp but there's basically no bass. I'd rather use my wired earphones with multiple drivers. When something broke, they offered me a refurbished replacement. I asked if I could upgrade to a newer expensive model and pay the difference myself, which most other companies would allow, but they refused. That shows pure greed and no responsibility for poor quality assembly. I cannot recommend their products to anyone.
Horrible business practices. Purchased MW08 Sport earbuds from an authorized Amazon seller only to find out the right ear doesn't work properly and the company won't honor their warranty. On top of that, they don't even have repair facilities, so what's the warranty actually good for? This company will just toss your broken unit in the garbage and send you a replacement, which is wasteful and irresponsible.
I'm a senior who can afford to treat myself to nice things, but expensive products shouldn't just stop working. That's what you expect from cheap throwaway items, not from something priced as premium. Master & Dynamic won't help when their products break. Their only answer is to get you to spend more money by offering discounts on replacement 'high end' gear.
