What Shoppers Say About Muck Boot
Muck Boot has received predominantly negative feedback from shoppers, with 1.4 out of 5 based on 18 reviews. The most common complaints center on durability issues, including boots that leak within weeks of use, soles that fail to provide adequate traction despite advertised non-slip claims, and overall quality concerns relative to the price point. Shoppers also report significant problems with customer service, particularly slow shipping timelines, delayed delivery notifications, lengthy refund processing (over two months in some cases), and return policies that charge customers for returns. A small number of satisfied customers praise the boots for comfort, fit, ease of use, water protection, and appearance, suggesting the product performs well for some users but inconsistently across the customer base.
The most serious issues involve safety hazards (inadequate traction causing near-injury) and misalignment between advertised product features and actual performance. Shipping delays have been flagged as especially problematic during winter months when customers need boots urgently. The combination of product defects, unmet durability expectations, and frustrating customer service experiences has led most reviewers to advise against purchasing from Muck Boot.

Sorted by: Most recentI got a pair of wellies that started having problems. I've owned several pairs over the years and worn them hard, but this time they weren't staying waterproof. I called Muck Boot and they told me to contact my supplier, but the supplier said to go back to Muck Boot. Nobody wants to take responsibility. Now I'm out the money and stuck with a bad product. Really disappointed with how this whole situation was handled.
I paid 145 dollars for these boots and within a year both boots had split, which meant they weren't waterproof anymore. They came with a year warranty, but when I submitted my claim with pictures, they turned me down saying their quality control team decided it was just normal wear and tear and wouldn't cover it under the warranty.
I opened my box to find Women's Muckster 2 Mid boots. This is my 5th order from them for myself and family, so I was looking forward to them. When I tried to roll down the cuff, I found a huge sticker with a barcode stuck right on it. I'm really upset because what's the point of a cuff with pretty flowers if you can't even roll it down because there's this big ugly sticker that won't come off? This is clearly a defect, like selling irregular merchandise as if it's perfect. That's honestly deceptive. I looked at reviews for the same boots after I bought mine and found tons of other customers complaining about the exact same sticker problem. I tried reaching out twice but haven't gotten a response. I want to return these and get my money back, and I think the company needs to stop fooling customers.
I bought a pair of Muck boots and just over a year later the sole started separating from the rest of the boot. I was really let down by this purchase since I paid 179.99 for what turned out to be a low quality product.
I had these boots for just over a year but honestly barely wore them, maybe 6 months of actual use. The heel suddenly fell apart and they became useless. When I contacted Muck Boots about the problem, they didn't seem to care at all. I won't be buying from them again.
This company's returns policy is all over the place, and their returns process is not set up properly at all. They even listed two different addresses for sending stuff back. The whole operation is below average compared to what you'd get elsewhere. I emailed asking for help and didn't hear back for 4 days. Come on, it takes 2 minutes to reply to an email. A small company like this probably doesn't get more than 30 emails an hour. You've got to do better. Skip buying directly from them.
Another pair of Muck Boots fell apart around the 12 month mark, and this isn't the first time it's happened to me. Sure, they're comfortable. Yes, they keep you warm. And okay, they start out waterproof. But for what you're paying, the quality is absolutely terrible. I spend similar money on Dr Martens made in England and 5 years later they're still perfect, yet in that same timeframe I've already burned through 5 pairs of Muck Boots. When you try to contact the company they either ignore you or talk down to you. The quality is bad enough, but then you have to deal with their customer service attitude and their arrogant 'we're Muck Boots, don't you know' vibe which is even worse. Honestly, I got a knock-off pair from Aldi for 30 bucks that was just as comfortable, just as warm, just as waterproof, and actually lasted longer. Muck Boots, you've lost your way. Keep going like this and you're going to lose your customers too. Stop selling cheap boots at premium prices before nobody wants to buy from you anymore.
Both of my Muck short wellies cracked in the exact same spots after just 4 months of use. When I reached out to Muck with photos, they made me jump through a bunch of ridiculous hoops that felt designed to discourage me from even trying to resolve it. This falls way short of what I'd expect from customer service compared to other companies. After seeing all the negative feedback about their customer service track record, I'm definitely going to research companies more carefully before buying their stuff in the future.
