This is my second time at the Plaza premium lounge at Heathrow T5. I have complimentary access through a travel benefits package that runs me eighteen pounds monthly. It's hands down the most shabby and overpacked lounge I've encountered anywhere in Britain. The furniture with fake leather is literally falling apart. They mark certain seats as reserved for no clear purpose. At minimum, you can get a drink and a bite to eat, but it's nowhere near worth spending actual cash on at Heathrow T5.

Read the reviews and stay away. We had complimentary access through our Business Class ticket with an airline at Heathrow T4, and it was a nightmare. The food selection was shockingly limited and mediocre. Staff members were impolite and incompetent, not doing their jobs correctly, and some male staff were clearly flirting with attractive female passengers looking for seating, which was already in short supply. The layout makes it especially cramped for couples. There was an Air France section being used by non-Air France customers. The whole thing was miserable. The orange juice tasted like colored water, the food was barely edible garbage, and staff should hang their heads in shame. I'm even planning to complain to the airline. Out of every lounge I've ever visited, this is absolutely the worst.

I pre-booked the Plaza premium lounge at Terminal 5 for Saturday through a pass service for a two hour window from 10:30 to 12:30. When I arrived, there was a massive queue of walk-in customers. I got to the front since I had a confirmed pre-booking. The receptionist acknowledged my reservation but then said the lounge was extremely full. I figured we were fine since pre-bookings usually come with a reserved table. But not this time, so there was nowhere for my wife and me to sit. I went back and the receptionist agreed my booking was valid but explained they hadn't recorded our names through the pass service so they didn't hold a table. If you book this way, make sure you call ahead with your names or book straight with Plaza premium to guarantee seating. Forty-seven pounds to stand while eating is terrible value.
