What Shoppers Say About Proenza Schouler
Proenza Schouler's direct-to-consumer channel has received overwhelmingly negative feedback, with 20 shoppers rating it 1.3 out of 5. The dominant complaint centers on product durability: multiple reviewers report leather bags developing damage (corner wear, hardware failure) within weeks to months of purchase, which they view as unacceptable for a luxury brand. Customer service emerges as a secondary major issue, with shoppers describing unhelpful responses when requesting repairs or returns. Specific grievances include refusal to assist with out-of-warranty items, denial of return refunds without clear justification, and dismissal of durability claims as customer fault. A small number of satisfied customers report bags lasting years without issue and mention finding deals through patience, but these positive experiences are vastly outnumbered.
Beyond product and service quality, shoppers also cite restrictive policies as problematic. A no-return policy on clearance items was flagged as contrary to EU consumer law. The overall pattern suggests significant disconnect between the brand's luxury positioning and actual performance and customer support, leading nearly all reviewers to question whether the products justify their price point relative to mainstream alternatives.

Sorted by: Most recentHad a really bad experience with both a bag and the customer service. Can't trust this company when they claim their stuff is high quality. Just a few months in and the bag corners were destroyed. I expected it to last several years but it's no better than something from a regular store. My Zara bag has held up way longer than this so called luxury bag. And obviously they won't do anything about the damage.
Absolutely love Proenza and have never had a bad experience. Their bags hold up amazing, I've had some for years without any leather problems. You can find good deals if you're patient. No issues from me.
Got a blue camera bag about a month ago and the leather on both corners is already completely gone. When I reached out to Proenza, they basically said it's my fault for using the bag. That doesn't make any sense for something I just bought. I expected that spending this much money on a bag would come with some kind of warranty protection. Not coming back to this brand.
Reached out because a hardware piece fell off one of my bags and asked PS to fix it. They told me they only help with online purchases and that I'd need to find the original receipt from when I bought it over 10 years ago and go back to wherever I purchased it, which I can't even remember. They basically said if I can't prove I bought it directly from them, they won't touch it. What if I bought it overseas? Do I really have to travel internationally just to fix a bag? They literally told me they can't authenticate their own products without original proof of purchase. That's not how real luxury brands operate at all.
These guys are straight up dishonest. I returned boots and they sat on them for 43 days, then shipped them back claiming they showed wear and refused to refund me. The boots were never worn.
Really overpriced and I won't be buying again even on sale. Got a cardigan that looked good in their photos with a nice cropped fit. Packaging was nice and it seemed okay at first but nothing about it felt luxurious. The wool is probably recycled, not that there's anything wrong with that if they'd actually said so, but the yarn quality is terrible. After the first wear it started falling apart, the knit around the button holes is coming apart and the same thing happened near the buttons and in other areas on the back. These spots will become holes eventually if you don't fix them. You shouldn't have to worry about that on a $400 cardigan. I'm really let down. Could have gotten basically the same thing at COS or other stores for a quarter of the price. Don't waste your money on this stuff. Misleading descriptions, way too expensive, poor quality made in China.
Tried really hard to get them to accept a return on something marked final sale that I bought through Affirm. I originally ordered through Neiman Marcus when they said they didn't have it, then suddenly they said it was shipping the next day. Now I was stuck with two Affirm payments. Neiman Marcus actually had my size, but Proenza Schouler won't take the item back. I'm stuck with a sweater I don't want plus a $100 finance fee. They're impossible to work with. Seriously don't buy from them.
Just paid $1,000 for a knit dress and it's made in China. Seriously? I feel completely scammed.
Never received what I ordered but got a T shirt instead. Three weeks later and still no refund. After a bunch of emails their customer service told me today they won't send the money for the sweater I paid for and never got until they receive the T shirt back. Since I don't have a printer the mistake on their end is going to cost me more time and money before I see my refund for the sweater I never even received.
