Young renters under 25, especially those from the US, watch out! Yes, there's a daily fee for your age, and sure, the fine print mentions needing 4 years of driving experience. If you're 20 or 21 and older, you probably have that. But here's what they don't make crystal clear: you need actual proof. Nothing stings worse than leaving home after pre-paying for your rental and paying all those underage charges, only to discover your issue at pickup. Turns out my new horizontal license didn't show my 4 years of driving history, and in America we can't carry expired IDs with us or pack old licenses for trips. I ended up needing to dig up an old photo of my provisional permit or find old insurance paperwork from 4 years back just to get my vehicle that I'd already paid for. Fingers crossed this tip helps another young traveler avoid the same headache.
