What Shoppers Say About Spalding
Spalding is rated 1.9 out of 5 by 13 shoppers, with reviews showing a deeply divided customer base. A small group of shoppers praise the value, quality of certain products, and friendly service. However, the majority of reviewers report serious quality control issues including defective products arriving damaged or unassembled, and they express frustration with customer service that they describe as unresponsive, dismissive, and unwilling to escalate concerns to supervisors.
Recurring complaints center on assembly problems with basketball hoops that go unresolved for months, product defects such as balls arriving unglued, and a returns process that shoppers say is prohibitively expensive due to shipping costs and restocking fees. Several reviewers report being stuck in prolonged disputes with customer support and cite difficulty reaching supervisors or receiving timely responses to follow-up emails. These service and quality issues appear to be the primary drivers of the low overall rating.

Got a baseball goal for the grandkids as a Christmas present back in 2019. Wind knocked it down in August 2020 and damaged the base. I've reached out to Spalding several times since then, but as of February 2021 I'm still getting excuses about why they can't send me replacement parts for a $275 item. If you're thinking about buying from them, be warned.
