What Shoppers Say About OUAI Haircare
OUAI Haircare shoppers report mixed results, with roughly equal percentages rating the brand at either end of the spectrum. Those who rate highly praise the product quality and visible hair benefits, particularly for managing hard water damage and achieving softness and shine. However, many reviewers encounter significant issues: some experience scalp problems like flakiness and oiliness after switching to OUAI products, while others find the scent off-putting (described as reminiscent of medical shampoo). Beyond product performance, recurring frustrations include poor website usability, unclear order confirmation and tracking, lack of customer service channels, and silent product discontinuations without communication from the brand.
Price is another sticking point for dissatisfied customers, who feel the cost is not justified by performance, particularly when products require multiple applications to lather or don't work for their hair type. The brand's lack of transparency around product changes and customer communication failures appear to damage loyalty even among longtime fans. Shoppers seeking responsive customer service or reliable website functionality may find their experience frustrating.

Sorted by: Most recentGrabbed some after getting a sample in a previous order and really liked how it smelled, so I picked up the full shampoo and conditioner set. Problem is their customer service is pretty bad. They ignore emails and to check on where your stuff is, you have to set up a Shopify account that demands access to your phone data and you can't remove it. Plus the cardboard box comes stuffed with tons of plastic foam tubes even though the box itself is recyclable. I care about the environment so that's a dealbreaker. Since it's just an average product anyway, I'm not coming back.
Not worth the price for what you get. I picked up the jumbo detox shampoo and fine hair conditioner. They smell great and there's nothing defective about them, but I haven't seen any real difference in my hair. It still gets oily on the same schedule. One positive is that I'm losing less hair when washing versus when I used cheaper alternatives. Still, at this price point I can't justify repurchasing. Olaplex works better for me.
Is anyone else experiencing serious hair loss while using this line? I've never seen my hair fall out this much in my entire life!!!!
It's definitely a solid conditioner but the fragrance triggers my asthma quite severely so I had to throw it out. I think it's the musky notes that are causing the problem.
I've had great experiences with every single product I've ordered from them. I really appreciate that they have a shampoo designed specifically for medium hair types. Sounds like a small thing but most shampoos are either fine or thick, and fine ones don't clean well while thick ones weigh my really long hair down. This works perfectly and leaves my hair feeling amazing. Their leave in conditioner is hands down the best I've ever tried.
I think these products are way overhyped. All the celebrity and influencer promotion around the brand makes it seem better than it actually is, but I've found tons of alternatives that perform so much better. Their hair and body oil smells incredible but makes my hair super greasy while a cheaper high street option gives me better results. The hairspray doesn't keep anything in place, the shampoo and conditioner don't strengthen my hair, and the dry foam is just pleasant to smell basically. When I actually want results I go with moroccanoil or John Frieda. If they made their formulas more effective they might win me over again because the scents are legitimately amazing.
In my opinion these products don't live up to the hype. I wonder if all the influencer and celebrity endorsements are driving expectations way too high, but honestly I think a lot of other brands work way better. Take their hair and body oil as an example. Sure it smells wonderful but my hair gets super greasy, whereas I get better results from drugstore brands for half the cost. The hairspray barely held anything, the shampoo and conditioner didn't add any strength to my hair, and the dry foam just made things smell nice without actually doing anything. If I want actual performance I always go with moroccanoil or John Frieda instead of OUAI. If they improved the effectiveness of their formulas they might get my business back because the scent game is seriously strong.
Got these as a Christmas gift for my son. I wasn't home when the deliveries were attempted and the items got returned to the company. I sent an email to customer service and they reshipped everything right away. I want to give a special thanks to Mia for her outstanding help.
Grabbed these as a Christmas gift for my son. I ended up missing the delivery attempts and the package got sent back to the company. I contacted their support team and they resent everything to me without any hassle. Big shout out to Mia for going above and beyond with the customer service.
