What Shoppers Say About weworewhat.com
We Were What has received overwhelmingly negative feedback from shoppers, with 1.1 out of 5 based on 23 reviews. The most common complaints center on poor product quality, inconsistent sizing across items, inadequate customer service, and fulfillment problems including unshipped orders and issues with international shipping. Reviewers describe the clothing as cheap quality that deteriorates quickly after washing, with particular frustration about jeans being cut for specific heights and sizing information that varies unpredictably by item. Multiple shoppers have reported unresolved customer service issues and at least one customer who filed a fraud claim after not receiving their purchase.
Few positive aspects emerge from the available reviews. One shopper noted that swimwear can fit well if customers select the correct size for their body shape, suggesting that fit issues may be partially addressable through careful size selection. However, this limited positive note is vastly outweighed by pervasive concerns about brand reliability, product durability, and the company's responsiveness to customer problems. Several reviewers recommend alternative retailers like Revolve or Reformation instead.

Sorted by: Most recentI've supported the brand and founder for years from the beginning. But I need to be honest about what's really happening. She doesn't give accurate sizing information. Everything's different depending on the item. Swimwear fits well if you pick the right size for your shape. But the jeans? They're cut for someone around five foot five, not anyone shorter like five two. The activewear is super restrictive compared to casual going out pieces. I bought two going out outfits and both were huge even though other items in extra small fit great. She's really talented at marketing but doesn't actually show up for customer service. That's where she falls short. It feels disingenuous when she pretends to care. Really she's just focused on making money. The people managing service don't care and are just following whatever rules she made. Compared to other designer brands, this one has the worst quality and customer satisfaction. I'd say skip it. Not worth the hassle or the money.
The clothes are cheap quality with careless design work and awful customer service. I think they're just reselling stuff from elsewhere, so just skip them and buy direct from the source.
Poor attitudes running the company and a cheap product that fell apart after being washed once.
Customer service is a nightmare. The CEO must not have a clue or is just ignoring issues. Something's off. Never got my purchase and ended up filing a fraud claim with my bank.
Wish I'd looked at reviews first before ordering from overseas. Honestly Revolve or Reformation are better choices. I loved a necklace from their September jewelry drop and had a friend in the US order it for me. First they blamed slow shipping for a month, then four weeks later said there were manufacturing problems and couldn't ship. Next I got an automated 'order dispatched' email. Three weeks after that they told me it's out of stock and issued a refund. Seriously? Their customer service is absolutely horrible. They care way more about their Instagram presence than helping customers after the sale. Their social media gives no hint of these problems. I've shopped from tons of US brands and never had this experience. What's even worse is they keep throwing discount codes in every third email like that fixes anything. Their team is either drowning in work or needs to completely rethink how they handle customers. First and last time I'm ordering from them.
First time buying from this site and I was let down by the quality for what I paid, especially on a pair of jeans. The item arrived with dark stains and loose stitching poking out all over. I'd recommend seeing things in person before ordering if you can. They offered a return but the process seemed like such a hassle that I just gave the jeans away instead. As a high demand company they shouldn't be shipping out damaged products like this.
I have to agree with what others are saying about the recent jewelry release. I set an alarm and ordered right away. Even as I was finishing my purchase, the website showed a few other items still in stock, but two days later got an email saying my entire order was cancelled for inventory reasons. I really doubt all three items I ordered actually ran out at the same time. The worst part? I've seen celebrities and influencers with multiple pieces from that jewelry line somehow. For something that was apparently in such demand, it's frustrating being treated like we regular customers don't matter.
Worst customer service ever. Got two identical items as a birthday present. Reached out to them on day 15 about the mix-up, but they said since I was one day past their return window they couldn't help. I explained I was traveling so that's why it took longer, but they just didn't care. Now I'm stuck with two of the same jacket. Never ordering from here again.
