I purchased a washer back in April 2024. I only run it once or twice monthly, but this month it started making loud grinding sounds even when it's off and empty. A quick search shows this is a widespread problem with Whirlpool washers, but they refuse to fix it unless I pay for an expensive service call or buy an extended warranty. The repair cost would be almost as much as buying a brand new machine. The quality on these is absolutely terrible.

This has been the worst experience. I bought a new microwave for three hundred dollars and paid another hundred to install it over my stove, but it only runs for 10 seconds before shutting off. I called Whirlpool and waited two weeks for a technician who had no idea what he was doing. Two weeks later another guy came out and said the control board is fried. I'm still waiting for another visit. My return window was only 24 hours so I'm stuck. The exact same thing happened with my Whirlpool dishwasher. Never buy their products. The service and customer support are both terrible.

Right from day one, my Whirlpool refrigerator wouldn't recognize that the water filter was installed correctly. I made multiple calls just to get a replacement filter sent out, then more calls to schedule service. An agent finally got my service appointment set up quickly since it was still within the early failure window. But after waiting 4 hours, I got a call saying the service company couldn't come for another 15 days. I wasted hours trying to find help, being on hold with customer service, removing and reinstalling the filter multiple times, and waiting for a technician who never actually showed up for the appointment that was supposedly confirmed. Skip buying from Whirlpool. You're completely on your own when you need repairs. By the way, this same customer service also handles Jenn-Air, Kitchenaid, Amana, Maytag, Gladiator and other brands. Stay away from all of them.

Worst company I've ever dealt with.

I bought a Kitchenaid oven about a year and a half ago and it's been nothing but trouble. The service company came out 8 times and didn't care one bit about fixing the problem. I had to buy an extended warranty hoping Whirlpool would actually resolve it, but they haven't. They've been here twice and still haven't fixed the overheating issue. Last week I set it for 400 degrees and it jumped to 550 within half an hour. The problem comes and goes randomly, and the technicians act like I'm bothering them. Whirlpool has completely failed me. Don't fall for the Kitchenaid brand name because it's all junk.

I want to give a big shout out to James from Connecticut who provided exceptional customer service. I was honestly pretty upset when I found out my 10-year dryer warranty wasn't nearly as comprehensive as I thought it would be, and I didn't hide my annoyance during our call. But James stayed cool, patient, and super professional the whole time. He took the time to explain my coverage in detail and then showed me what extended warranty options I could add. He was friendly, knew his stuff, and never made me feel rushed or brushed off. The extended warranty he suggested was reasonably priced and gave me exactly the protection I needed for peace of mind. His expertise and kindness turned what could have been a bad experience into a really good one. James is definitely a standout employee and a real asset to the team. Thanks for the great service.

The previous owner of my condo installed all Whirlpool appliances, and I feel blessed every single day because they're holding up great after 20 plus years. Like a reliable Toyota, these machines just keep running and running. The build quality and durability are impressive. This is a hardworking company that makes products that last. I'm now as loyal to Whirlpool as I am to Toyota. Thank you for making such quality goods.

I'm warning everyone to avoid Whirlpool. I bought a suite of their appliances back in August 2018. The stove's left front dual burner refuses to regulate temperature and burns all my food, making it unusable. The fridge also freezes everything no matter what I do. Neither the store I bought from nor Whirlpool will stand behind their products. These companies don't back anything they sell.

I purchased my Whirlpool front-load Duet Steam washer and dryer back in 2010 and they're still running perfectly with zero problems. I got them right when production moved back to the USA, and they've been rock solid since day one.
