Picked this up as a gift and it turned out to be the best choice I could have made.

Ordered this as a Christmas present and haven't used it yet, but I'm already frustrated. The shipping box is just plain cardboard with a label that clearly spells out exactly what's inside. Really thoughtless. That ruins any chance of surprising someone since it's obvious what the gift is. Your warehouse team needs to think this through better.

Got mine via Royal Mail and it showed up two business days after I ordered. I've seen some people say it doesn't kill flies but the instructions clearly state you need to be within three feet. It absolutely works if you're at the right distance. I even picked up the laser attachment but honestly it's great without it too. Still pretty new to me so I can't speak to how long it'll last yet.

I've had a lot of fun with my Bug-a-salt. Sometimes it beats out using my electronic swatter, sometimes the swatter is better, but no matter what I'm having a blast. One thing I'd suggest: when I had a jam one time, I watched a video to fix it but it took forever to get to the actual troubleshooting tips. Would be nice if they had a dedicated how-to video that skips the comedy bits and just gets straight to the point.

The trigger snapped in the first couple months and now the gun won't work. Getting replacement parts is impossible, and their customer service is basically nonexistent. Save yourself the money and buy something else.

Got this for Christmas and didn't have to pay for it myself, so that was nice. The concept sounds cool, but in practice it falls short. Even when I'm right up close, maybe a meter away, and land a direct hit, the fly just zooms away. The salt doesn't pack enough punch to actually take them down. Needs more stopping power.

Shot several flies at close range and they just keep flying away. This isn't worth the money at all. I'd rather spend it on a couple of those electric mosquito swatters. Pretty disappointed with how this turned out.

Most complaints boil down to people skipping the instructions. Particularly the parts about maintaining and cleaning your unit. Salt settles and clumps the same way sugar does, so residue builds up. Those who complain should actually read what comes with the product. If you've got time to post complaints, you've got time to read the manual. I passed these out at Christmas and every single person called it the best present they got. Seriously tough to beat at this price. One more thing: stick with the brand's salt rounds - they're the right size, way less cleanup, and perform much better. If you're firing constantly and salt buildup is an issue, just shut your windows or upgrade your screens.

The main issue I see with complaints is people not reading the manual. Specifically the cleaning and maintenance parts. Salt clumps just like sugar, so salt buildup happens. If folks took time to follow the instructions instead of complaining, they'd be happier. I gave several of these out for the holidays and everyone said it was their best gift ever. Hard to beat for the price point. Pro tip: use the official salt ammunition - better size, less mess, and way more effective. If you're the type to shoot constantly and notice salt everywhere, maybe improve your window screens instead.

Not living up to what I thought it would be. I unloaded three shots at a fly from just a few inches away, managed to connect, and the fly still managed to escape. Really let down with this purchase.

Used mine for three years before it quit shooting salt completely. When I cracked it open to investigate, I saw the rubber piston seal had degraded, hardened, and twisted out of shape from constant salt exposure. The company doesn't sell replacement parts for situations like this. So it's headed to the landfill. Looks like it's back to the swatter and spray cans for me.

Accidentally placed an order on the European site and quickly sent an email to cancel it, less than ten minutes later. Got no response and they shipped it anyway. Had to dispute the charge through my payment provider and refused the delivery.
