What Shoppers Say About Red Robin
Red Robin receives sharply divided reviews, with shoppers either highly satisfied or significantly disappointed. Positive reviewers praise the quality of the burgers themselves, with some highlighting special touches from staff that elevated their experience, particularly for takeout orders. However, negative reviews consistently cite serious operational issues: inconsistent and inattentive service, order mistakes, cleanliness concerns, expired promotional gift cards without customer notification, and perceived declines in food quality and ingredient sourcing. The recurring complaint centers on paying premium prices (approaching twenty dollars per burger) for food and service that reviewers feel fails to justify the cost.
The stark polarization in ratings suggests that Red Robin's experience varies significantly by location and visit. When service and food quality align, customers express genuine satisfaction. When they do not, the disappointment is acute, with multiple reviewers stating they will not return. Common frustrations include seating delays, unclean tables, staff indifference to mistakes, and difficulty with promotional terms and expiration policies.

Sorted by: Most recentI'm really let down. I've been a regular here, coming in at least weekly. Last fall I bought one of their gift card promotions where you purchase a card at one amount and get extra value plus a salt product. So I grabbed one. I used the main card first, but when I went to use the bonus card today, they told me it had expired. Nobody ever told me this card had an expiration date or I obviously would have used it sooner. I reached out to corporate and they basically didn't care at all. I've been coming here for over two decades, but once this card is used up, I'm done. I straight up asked them why they couldn't make this right and got told their hands were tied. This feels like a total rip-off.
Our recent visit to the Cypress location was really disappointing and we won't go back soon. From the moment we walked in, service felt off. We watched people who arrived after us get seated first, which set a bad tone right away. When we finally got a table, it was filthy and hadn't been cleaned properly, with dirty dishes piled up everywhere. The food wasn't any better either, just lukewarm when it arrived, definitely not hot or fresh. Nobody offered to refill our included sides, and we had to ask multiple times just to get more drinks. The whole experience was sloppy and made us feel pretty let down.
This place has really gone downhill. The quality is absolutely terrible now. You're paying nearly twenty bucks for a burger that tastes worse than something from a fast food joint, which makes no sense. Their other options like salads and pizzas are equally bad. Whoever decided to cut corners by using cheap wholesale ingredients clearly doesn't care about this restaurant anymore. It's a shame.
Did a takeout order tonight and I have to say it was handled really well. The person working the pickup station didn't know it was our anniversary, but they sure made it special anyway. Everything we ordered came out exactly how we asked for it. My wife was thrilled with her burger choice, and it tasted amazing. Props to you all for treating the order with genuine care and attention.
I've tried Red Robin multiple times and keep getting let down. The waitstaff always seems disinterested, and my orders never come out right. It's really frustrating to spend money on a meal that has mistakes in it every single time. The staff just doesn't seem to care about getting things right or making things right. I'm not coming back and I can't recommend this place to anyone looking for decent food and service.
Had a gift card and decided to try the local restaurant to enjoy some good burgers. We got seated, received our menus, and then were basically ignored for over half an hour. We kept trying to flag someone down to take our order but nobody came. Finally, frustrated, we just left. At the exit, an employee mentioned that we were supposed to order using the table kiosk. The problem is, nobody explained that to us or showed us how to use it. I had actually tried using that device out of frustration but couldn't figure out how to actually place an order. This experience was a bust and we won't be coming back. We've also told others about what happened.
Stopped by yesterday and our server was phenomenal. Duane provided the kind of service you dream about. He was responsive, genuinely kind, and made sure everything came out quickly and correctly. The meal was excellent and he was just a pleasure to interact with throughout. I haven't had service this excellent in years. Duane, you're the best!
We stopped by the District location yesterday and had the pleasure of being served by Duane. He was phenomenal. The service was rapid, our server was personable and engaged with us, and the food hit the spot. He was genuinely enjoyable to chat with throughout the meal. I haven't experienced that caliber of service in quite some time. Major thanks to Duane for a fantastic visit!
Really upset about how they handled their promotional deal. They advertised a free burger daily throughout a month for a set price and gave customers a link to purchase at a specific time. When that time rolled around, their website crashed and nothing worked properly. I spent forty-five minutes refreshing over and over just trying to buy the deal. When I finally got through, I was told they only had around a hundred of these available nationwide, which felt dishonest. If you're going to advertise something, don't make it sound available to everyone when hardly anyone can actually get it. Not cool.
