What Shoppers Say About Leapfrog
Leapfrog products receive overwhelmingly negative feedback from shoppers, with 25 reviewers rating the brand 1.5 out of 5. The most consistent complaint centers on customer support, with multiple shoppers reporting that the company is unresponsive to inquiries and provides little to no assistance after purchase. Baby monitor products specifically are cited for quality issues, including software glitches that obstruct the display, inaccurate temperature sensors, failed chargers, and units that stop working within two years despite active warranties. Shoppers also note limited availability of replacement parts and a company unwillingness to address problems even when they occur within warranty periods.
A small minority of reviewers (12 percent) gave positive ratings, though the overall pattern suggests significant dissatisfaction with both product reliability and the brand's approach to customer service. Shoppers consistently recommend avoiding Leapfrog products entirely in favor of alternatives, citing the combination of high pricing relative to durability and the lack of meaningful support when issues arise.

Sorted by: Most recentThis baby monitor is overpriced for what you get. Whenever the baby moves, a notification pops up right in the middle of your view and blocks everything for about 5 seconds. On top of that, the temperature reading is way off. I'd recommend looking elsewhere.
Purchased the Magic Adventures Globe for our grandson. While getting it out of the box we accidentally cut the stylus cord, which was positioned in a way that made this easy to do. We contacted the company and got absolutely zero support. There aren't replacement parts available and since it was our mistake, they say that's on us. They weren't even sympathetic about it. We basically threw away 100 dollars on a poorly designed package that we'll probably just trash. This company will never get our business again, and we won't recommend them to anyone. Find another brand, there are plenty of other toy companies that actually care about their customers. These folks just want your money and nothing else.
Baby monitor quit working after under two years. Got told sorry, not our concern. Awful company.
I'm talking about their baby camera monitor here. This product just doesn't hold up well. My first one quit working while it was still covered. A store swapped it out for me, which was great. But the replacement started having problems pretty soon after the warranty period ended, specifically the charger cord frayed and stopped charging. I called support and they said no worries, we'll mail you a new charger. I offered to pay and they said it was covered. I just had to email with the model number and the reference from my call. I sent that email and got back a message saying sorry, it's outside the warranty so we can't send it. I reminded them that's not what they told me on the phone. I even offered to pay for it myself. Their response was we don't carry them and can't help you find one. After many sleepless nights not being able to check on my baby and all the safety concerns, I still haven't found a charger for sale anywhere. My father works as an electrician and he can't locate a compatible one either.
Skip this brand entirely! The support after you buy is absolutely terrible. I've dealt with plenty of companies, but this one takes the cake as the absolute worst. I've been emailing back and forth for over a week now and I'm not even close to getting my problem sorted.
Very suspicious activity with the camera. The device operates on its own without my input, turning lights on and moving the lens around. I reported this to the company. They acknowledged my messages at first but then completely stopped responding, even though I sent follow-ups multiple times. Something feels really off about this product and I can't rule out a security issue. It would have to come from inside the company since no one has my passwords. The whole thing is very unsettling.
The support representatives seem more interested in collecting personal information than actually helping you. I called three different times and couldn't get any real help, just got into arguments about whether I'd provide my details. Then they mentioned they already had everything saved in a file about me. I asked them to delete my information and they never did. I have several products from them and none of them work. Just junk.
Had a really rough experience with their customer service. I got My Pal Violet as a Christmas gift for my daughter. When I needed help setting it up, they refused to swap it out. They claimed they tested it according to their troubleshooting steps and determined it was defective. That's not something I caused! They basically said too bad, nothing else we can do. My daughter never got her Christmas present. Refusing to replace it was the final straw.
Don't even think about buying from this brand! Getting customer support is basically impossible. Their phone system requires all this product information, and if your label is worn or damaged, forget about getting through, which is totally normal with kids around. Email is a joke too, they make you jump through hoops with a form and I'd have to compromise my security settings just to submit it. There's no real way to contact them. Save yourself the headache and shop somewhere else!
