Really pleased with my custom skillet purchase. I ordered during their busy season and when I didn't get updates after the normal processing timeframe, I contacted them. Their customer support responded quickly and helpfully. My order arrived on schedule and my husband absolutely loved the skillet. That kind of service deserves five stars, and I'm definitely planning to order again.

Their warranty is basically useless. I bought a skillet from an authorized retailer and it arrived damaged. I reached out about their warranty coverage but they refused to replace it, saying the warranty doesn't apply to items bought through other retailers. They also claim they don't carry stock for products made specifically for those retailers. So if you purchase through anyone other than them directly, their warranty protection is worthless.

The representative told me seasoning wears over time and I'd need to season it myself. But I just bought it brand new! Not a good experience with this company. Within a day of ordering, I realized I needed to cancel. I tried messaging through my account, calling (they said too many calls and to email instead), and emailing. Their response was just a no cancellation, no refund policy.

They're a respectable cast iron manufacturer. The quality isn't quite on par with vintage pans from the 1960s like the older Erie brand, which were lighter, thinner, and actually performed better. Modern Lodge has a bumpy surface texture, which is a bit disappointing, but once you season them properly they perform adequately.

Placed an order on the 8th of December. Their website guarantees delivery before Christmas Eve for orders submitted by the 13th. Got a delay notice on the 12th but nothing about when it would actually arrive. I tried reaching customer service and got nothing for several days. When they finally answered, all they said was their terms don't allow order changes after purchase. No shipping estimate, no solutions, just a cold response. This was a five hundred dollar order with seventy five dollars in shipping, and I ordered it three weeks before the holiday. Most likely won't arrive in time and apparently they can't help due to their own delays. Tried calling and using chat but both were unavailable. Pretty questionable.

Ordered pans on Sunday evening. The next day I checked the order and realized the dimensions were smaller than expected because the measurements included the handle. I replied to the confirmation trying to cancel. Monday came and I got conflicting information: first a chat agent said no cancellations were possible and return shipping would be my responsibility. Then I called and was told it was already packed and shipping. A few minutes later, the chat person informed me they'd gotten approval for a refund and I could keep the pans anyway. Even though they said I couldn't cancel, the order was somehow cancelled. Still, the charge appeared on my card Tuesday as a real transaction rather than pending. When I called to follow up on the status, customer service confirmed it was indeed cancelled, though no one ever reached out to me about it. The whole situation was unnecessarily complicated.

Stacks up well against other major brands in my opinion. I've got quite the collection: two cast iron skillets of different sizes, a combination dutch oven, two carbon steel skillets, a carbon steel grill pan, a griddle, and a chainmail cleaner. The surface texture on Lodge's cast iron and carbon steel is rougher than competitors like Matfer and others, but honestly hasn't caused me any problems. I'm constantly cooking on my larger skillets and dutch oven without issues.

The cookware quality is solid when you maintain it properly. I haven't had any reason to reach out to customer support.

Really enjoy this American manufacturer. Their cast iron cookware is fantastic for cooking and built to last. Unlike nonstick surfaces, frying eggs won't be perfect, but everything else is a solid choice: excellent heat retention, durable enough to chop on without harm, and genuinely will outlast generations. The weight and thickness are incredible - I'm convinced these pieces would survive almost anything. My great-grandchildren will probably be using the same pan I'm using now.
