What Shoppers Say About comfortinn.com
Comfort Inn locations show drastically polarized customer experiences. A small portion of guests (27 percent) report excellent stays, praising immaculate rooms, tasteful upscale design, fresh-smelling accommodations, attentive staff, and quality complimentary breakfast. However, the overwhelming majority of reviews (73 percent) describe serious operational and cleanliness failures that significantly damage the brand's reputation.
Recurring complaints center on billing problems, including double charges and unauthorized overcharges that customers report their banks struggle to resolve. Multiple guests describe unacceptable room conditions such as filthy bedding with visible stains and blood marks, non-functional room phones with severed cords, malfunctioning keycards, and unsanitary bathroom conditions. Additional concerns include staff behavior ranging from rude and dismissive to disrespectful, instances of overbooking with reservations given away despite payment, and lack of compensation or resolution when problems occur. The consistency and severity of these complaints across different Comfort Inn locations suggest systemic issues with property maintenance, staff training, and billing procedures.

I need to warn others about my experience with a Comfort Inn location under Choice Hotels. I booked online through a travel site for a stay and paid at the front desk upon checkout after being told any booking fees would process later. When my credit card statement arrived, I was shocked to see I'd been charged twice - once before I arrived and again after I left. Multiple calls and emails to both the booking site, the hotel, and Choice Hotels got me nowhere. Nobody would take responsibility. My credit card company confirmed the charges came from the hotel both times. I've filed a dispute request with my credit card company for this unresolved issue.
The Comfort Inn location in Sherman was absolutely unacceptable. The room phone had a severed cord making it completely unusable. Three of the four keycards didn't function, and when I checked out, my credit card was charged $30.36 more than what appeared on the receipt. To make matters worse, my bank has been slow to resolve this overcharge. The whole experience was terrible!
The manager was disrespectful and kicked me out of the parking lot even after I mentioned my whiplash injury. He actually called the police on me when I had nowhere to go with two flat tires. On my previous stay, room 333 was filthy with stains on the bed and what looked like blood marks on the walls plus other disgusting things in the bathroom. This place is revolting. I even applied for a job online and never heard back. One employee named Toni was genuinely kind and deserves to work somewhere better. I witnessed what appeared to be drug transactions happening in the parking lot. The whole situation was deplorable.
Found a tampon applicator in the bathroom of a room I paid over $200 for. Told the front desk but they offered no solution or compensation. Room service was rude and the worst I've experienced, with staff who were equally unwelcoming and dismissive.
We ended up stuck at the airport after Delta canceled multiple flights. After sleeping at the terminal for four nights, we booked a room at a Comfort Inn near the airport. We arrived early and were told we had to wait until 3pm for check-in. When we came back, they said our reservation had been given away due to heavy demand. We asked for our money back and they told us to contact the booking site. Exhausted, we accepted it. After spending four more nights away, we tried getting a refund through the booking site and were told the stay was non-refundable. We pointed out we never even got a room, and the booking site said they couldn't reach the hotel. We lost $260 because of trusting both the hotel and the booking platform, both of whom wouldn't take responsibility.
This hotel chain is disappointing. As a disabled veteran with limited funds, I prepaid for a walk-in stay. I wasn't able to make my Nashville trip due to family problems, so I called the hotel to ask about a refund. They outright refused to give my money back even though it was less than $100. Really unethical and poor customer service.
The Comfort Inn on Bell Road is close by and we've never had problems before. We always keep our room clean and leave no damage. Today after checking out, the night desk guy came down saying makeup residue on the towels was my fault. I offered to rinse it out myself so he could see, but he got loud and rude, insisting he'd already checked me out. My husband got upset because of his tone. The guy said we'd never be welcome back and demanded we pay for five towels. We left saying we'd return, but he continued being hostile. How was I fully checked out if he still had my deposit and never gave me a receipt? They really need better front desk staff. What happened to treating customers right? We were always treated well until today. I'm out $100 and feel totally disrespected.
I got to the Minneapolis airport location just before midnight from a flight. They put me in room 447 which appeared to be undergoing renovation. The room number was just printed on a piece of paper stuck on the door. The door lock didn't work right and the peephole was blocked from inside. Worse, they didn't stock shampoo or conditioner, and no soap in the bathroom either. I ended up showering with facial cleanser I had with me. Early morning, crews started working on adjacent rooms being renovated. The cleaning job was poor too - the vent was caked with dust. The room had missing floor panels, a broken lamp with no outlet, a crooked closet door, and mismatched handles. This was a terrible experience overall. Why assign someone a room that's under renovation? Why skip basic bathroom supplies like soap and shampoo? That wing should be shut down until work is done.
