What Shoppers Say About Danner
Danner is rated 2.1 out of 5 by 23 shoppers, with a majority of reviews expressing serious dissatisfaction. The most common complaints center on slow order processing and shipping delays (taking two weeks or longer to arrive), poor quality control with boots arriving with defects like dents and sole fit issues, problematic returns and refund processes (particularly for UK customers facing months-long delays), and unexpected additional costs such as high import duties. Several shoppers also report dissatisfaction with Danner's recrafting service, citing instances where boots were damaged during the rework process and became irreparable after multiple refurbishment attempts.
Few reviewers highlight positive experiences. Those giving higher ratings appear to appreciate Danner's reputation for quality and its Pacific Northwest heritage, though this goodwill is quickly eroded when orders arrive late, damaged, or with surprise fees. Customer support responsiveness is frequently questioned, with reports of support dismissing legitimate quality concerns about older stock and failing to address shipping delays promptly. Overall, shoppers advise carefully considering whether the premium price point justifies the operational and quality issues currently documented in reviews.

Sorted by: Most recentIf you're in the UK, stay away from this company. You'll end up in a nightmare trying to return something. Getting a refund will take months of back and forth conversations and you might not even be able to send the item back. It's ridiculous. You've been warned.
Their recrafting service is awful. When they reworked my boots, they stripped away so much of the welt material that they said the boots couldn't be refurbished anymore. Fair warning that after three or four recrafting jobs, your boots will be damaged beyond repair. My boots were actually in pretty great shape aside from what recrafting did to them. Instead of fixing the problem, they offered me a 25 percent discount code to buy new boots. That's just a sneaky way to push people into buying more product.
Think twice before ordering here. Last year I bought two pairs of Sierra boots at over 400 dollars each and both came from stock manufactured in 2021. The first pair had multiple dents across the left toe area and the second pair's sole didn't fit right. When I contacted support they claimed no problem exists with a four year old boot, yet I could clearly see the leather showing signs of age and wear.
They process orders slower if you don't pay extra. Both pairs took a full week just to start shipping and ended up taking two weeks total to arrive. That's crazy in 2025. I can't tell if it's intentional or just poor management, but either way it's pretty bad customer service.
My last couple of orders took more than two weeks to arrive. Danner says they've got warehouse issues and are running round the clock to fix it. That was a month back though. Not a good business practice to have that kind of delay.
Ordered two pairs of boots for around 550 dollars. I'm happy to pay premium prices when the company has a reputation for quality, especially since they're based right here in the Pacific Northwest. But I wasn't ready for what came next. After dropping 70 dollars on shipping alone, I got hit with over 250 dollars in import duties. When I checked the official government estimate, the numbers didn't match up. I asked everyone involved and they all pointed fingers at each other instead of taking responsibility. Nobody could show me actual paperwork from the government either. What really bothered me was how Danner handled it. They arranged the shipping but refused to own the problem, gave me no answers, and offered zero documentation. For the price I paid, I expected way better service. I absolutely cannot recommend this company.
Ordered Men's Boots in Chestnut and they arrived quickly in my size. The issue is a loud squeaking when I walk. People around me definitely notice it and it's pretty embarrassing to be honest.
Total junk. You can get the same quality from Rocky for half the price. Good luck getting help from anyone on their team either. The staff acts like their home state is the only place in America that matters. Apparently their boots only work there or something. Don't bother asking them about anything if you live anywhere else.
Purchased two pairs of Trail 2650 Campo shoes, one with Goretex and one without, in late 2023 and early 2024. Barely worn either pair and both Goretex versions split at the toe and now leak. The non Goretex ones had the rand come unglued. Reached out to Danner and got told I should've bought a tougher boot. I've only walked on city sidewalks in these. Quality is seriously lacking and way too expensive for what you get. Find another brand. Won't touch these again.
