What Shoppers Say About Disney Cruise Line
Disney Cruise Line shoppers are deeply divided. About half of reviewers rate their experience five stars, praising the quality of food, attentive crew service, well-maintained ships, and immersive island destinations. These satisfied guests report consistently excellent dining options, friendly staff who go above and beyond, and memorable experiences for children. However, roughly one-third of reviewers give one star, citing significant frustrations including inconsistent food quality across different ships, poor customer service and refusal to address mistakes, overcrowding that creates constant lines, unmet character meet-and-greet expectations after lengthy waits, and stateroom maintenance issues such as odors and broken locks.
The divided ratings reflect genuine quality variations between vessels and sailing dates, with some guests comparing disappointing recent cruises unfavorably to better experiences on other Disney ships. Common complaints center on the high cost relative to the service received and feeling that the experience does not deliver on Disney's premium pricing. Those who rate highly tend to have realistic expectations and appreciate the detail in theming and character interaction, while detractors often cite unmet expectations, poor value, and operational issues that negatively impacted their family's vacation.

Sorted by: Most recentWe just finished a week long Caribbean sailing on the Fantasy and it was perfect. Character meet-and-greets, helpful and friendly staff, tons of activities for everyone, delicious food, and Disney magic at every turn.
Overall, this was a fantastic cruise experience. There's plenty to do for the kids, which makes sense for Disney, but adults have lots of options too. The only real complaint we had was with booking shore excursions ahead of time. We were ready right when bookings opened, but everything sold out immediately. It seems like those spots go to concierge guests or people higher up in the loyalty program.
My son has autism and an access card. I asked if he could skip waiting in lines. They told me no and said there's no special treatment for any children. They don't recognize access cards either.
We brought our three and five year old grandsons along with our daughter and son-in-law, and it was an amazing experience for the kids with all the Disney magic. The food variety could have been better though, and what we had was just okay. We got concierge veranda cabins and would definitely recommend them for the extras you get. They managed to get us into sold-out shows and excursions. The concierge lounge also had excellent snacks and drinks available. It's a great family getaway overall.
I paid a lot for my cruise booking and couldn't get the excursions I wanted. By the time I logged in during work, all the good options were completely gone. The whole point of cruising is to experience new things, not stay stuck on a ship for almost two weeks.
Disney has provided amazing service and really exceeded expectations to ensure my experience will be incredible. I haven't even started my cruise yet but I'm already so excited about it.
The service has been incredible! Disney really went the extra mile to make sure everything is perfect for me, and I haven't even boarded yet. I'm so pumped about this cruise now.
What an unforgettable experience. My wife and two children sailed the Caribbean on the Disney Dream last month and the service was phenomenal. With the ship full of hyped-up kids everywhere, the staff remained incredibly calm and helpful. The ship was spotless throughout, and the entertainment and facilities exceeded our expectations. Considering the price point, the food quality was exceptional and our child with dairy, soy, and fish allergies had many alternative options to choose from. This cruise gets a strong recommendation from us.
Wow, this was an incredible experience. My wife and two kids took a Caribbean cruise on the Disney Dream this month and the service was outstanding. With a ship packed full of excited children, the staff stayed calm and helpful the whole time. Everything was spotless and the entertainment and amenities were fantastic. The food was excellent for what you're paying and our youngest has allergies to dairy, soy, and fish. They had tons of alternative options available. I'd definitely recommend this cruise.
Such an incredible experience overall. The character appearances happened throughout the entire trip, food was delicious, shows were fantastic. My kids who are six and three had the best time with nothing to complain about. A bit expensive, but totally worth the cost and we're already booking again. Many thanks to the wonderful team!
