Sorted by: Most recentI keep seeing ads on Facebook for a specific bulb marked as 85% off. When I click to buy it's only 50% off with a buy one get one deal. I contacted the company and they won't honor the advertised price. I asked them to escalate my complaint to corporate but they said customer service can't do that. I even asked them to email a corporate person on my behalf and copy me, but it never happened. I saw that 85% off ad at least five times on Facebook and took screenshots twice. Unless the BBB helps, I'm filing a complaint with the state attorney general's office. Holland Bulb Farm has since changed the Facebook ad. I want to order 20 of that particular bulb at the 85% off price, which comes to around $2.37 each. These kinds of discounts are pretty standard for them and I've taken advantage of them several times in the past.
Bought 14 amaryllis bulbs as gifts for different people. Out of the 14, four were bad. I reached out to customer service, sent pictures, and they shipped replacements. But for one person, they sent two replacement bulbs and both turned out to be defective too. You really can't trust the quality of their products. I've had good experiences with them before, so this is disappointing. I won't be using them again for my Christmas gifts next year because I don't want to deal with all the problems and frustration.
My order arrived incomplete and I got wrong information when I called to fix it. They only sent one replacement bulb and it was clearly dead. This company won't get my business again.
My order had items missing that showed in stock when I placed it. Plus, two daylily roots had crown rot. When I chatted with their rep, they basically told me to take photos and they'd think about what to do. The products I got were poor quality to begin with. Won't order from them again!
I absolutely love this company! The bulbs are top quality and healthy, and I got fantastic customer service when I called. Plus they ship super fast with express delivery right away. Hands down the best bulb company I've ordered from! I keep coming back.
I ordered one Wild Horses Daylily bulb. Instead of receiving the bulb, I got a bag of sawdust. I don't need a refund. I just want the daylily bulb I actually paid for.
Ordered on September 3rd and expected delivery mid-October. I emailed several times to check on my order because we get early frosts in my area. By October 22 nothing had shipped and it was still pending. I chatted with them and asked to cancel. They went ahead and cancelled right away, which tells me they never planned to ship it in the first place. Bad business. Find someone else.
Buyer beware! I typically give companies a chance to fix problems before leaving a public review. But after contacting Holland Bulb Farms three times, I never got a single response back. I ordered four or five months earlier and understood shipping wouldn't happen until fall. However, I got no notification when they actually shipped. Since bulbs should be stored cool and dry, receiving them while I was on vacation was a problem. They sat on my driveway for two weeks baking in the sun. I asked for replacements but got no answer back. My suggestion is to shop elsewhere. I'd leave them zero stars if I could and definitely won't recommend them or purchase from them again.
Got the wrong dahlia tubers delivered. I placed an order for 4 different dahlia varieties back in May. The tubers came in labeled pouches, so I planted them carefully and marked each one according to the labels. When they finally grew and flowered, I realized none of them matched what the labels said. Plus, two of the plants weren't even what I had ordered in the first place. They basically threw random tubers into bags and called it done. I'll never order from them again. Also had to remove myself from their mailing list because they were sending emails constantly throughout the day.
Ordered a Cherry Brandy black eyed Susan and when it bloomed it turned out to be a regular purple coneflower instead. Totally different from what I ordered. This appears to be a pattern with this company and they don't handle replacement requests well. I'm not even sure they'd send the right plant as a replacement. Skip this company.
