I called first thing the next morning at 9:05 and was told my bag had already shipped. This has been such a bad experience. Now I'm stuck waiting to receive something I don't want and dealing with the whole return process. Really disappointed and I'm moving on from Dooney.
I'd give zero stars if I could. I've spent tons of money with this company over the years. Recently I tried ordering 2 handbags as holiday gifts. I got a confirmation email, then immediately got a cancellation notice because of supposedly unexpected circumstances. I figured it was a mistake, so I ordered the same bags again. Same thing: confirmed then cancelled. This all happened over a weekend so I wondered if it was a payment processing issue. I checked with my bank and credit card company and both had been charged each time, but I haven't gotten a refund yet. I emailed them Tuesday to ask what was going on. Their response was rude, saying my orders were under review for fraud because of alleged frequent chargebacks and they won't do business with me anymore. I'm absolutely livid. I want to pile up every single bag I bought from them, torch it, and post it online so people know how awful they are. I will never buy another Dooney and Bourke bag again. Update: I asked for a supervisor and they gave me a number to call. Turned out it was a call center overseas. Some supervisor that was. Dooney and Bourke has the worst customer service I've ever seen.
Their support team ignored my complaints. The purse arrived in a box that was falling apart, looking like a truck had run over it. The handbag had basically no protection besides a beat-up plastic bag. The box was way oversized so the bag just bounced around inside. By the time it got to me, it had dents and creases all over. Really disappointing.
The lanyard I got seems to have manufacturing issues. I'm not even convinced it's authentic merchandise like they claim. The plastic casing feels cheap and thin. The card slot cover is pretty flimsy too, and the opening around it is cut all crooked. A real brand like Dooney and Bourke would never sell something with these kinds of defects. For $31, you get what you pay for.
This place is a complete scam. Six weeks. SIX WEEKS just to cancel an order I paid for 2-day shipping on. The package never arrived and whenever I tried reaching out through email or phone, either nobody responded or I spent 45 minutes getting transferred around before whoever I was talking to would just hang up on me. That order was over $700 and they never refunded it, never shipped it, and never even bothered to notify me by email or phone. Absolute fraudsters hiding behind this website. Every review online is negative and the Better Business Bureau has tons of complaints about them. I had to contact my bank to dispute the charge because of their obvious scam. The bags they're selling appear to be used merchandise from other sources based on other customer reviews. Shop here if you want to get ripped off and receive used items that who knows what kind of condition they're actually in.
Their customer service is absolutely terrible. I ordered something and paid extra for the 5 to 8 business day delivery option. When I emailed asking where my order was, I got nothing back. The next day I called to ask for tracking info and was told they couldn't help once the carrier had it. I explained I was traveling soon and needed to know when it would arrive. She just hung up on me! Do not buy from these people. Super unprofessional.
Ordered a bag that never showed up. They messed up the address, and this was supposed to be a special gift for a birthday and graduation.
