What Shoppers Say About Murad
Murad has highly polarized ratings on RetailCoupons.com, with shoppers rated 2.0 out of 5 by 21 reviewers. A significant portion of reviewers report disappointment with product efficacy, noting minimal results from targeted treatments like wrinkle correctors and peels despite following instructions. Additional complaints center on business practices: unauthorized charges, misleading container sizes described as sample-sized despite higher pricing, aggressive auto-renewal policies with difficult cancellation processes, and recent price increases paired with reduced product quantities. These issues have driven some long-time customers away despite initial loyalty.
Positive reviews highlight Murad's Environmental Shield moisturizer line as effective for sensitive, non-fragranced-tolerant skin, with some shoppers maintaining decade-long loyalty to specific products like the vitamin oil and expanded Hydration collection. However, even satisfied customers note frustration with recent pricing and sizing changes. The brand appears to retain a devoted base for specific product lines, but widespread concerns about value, product performance, customer service policies, and pricing transparency create significant barriers for new and existing shoppers.

Sorted by: Most recentNot commenting on the actual products, but the customer service at Murad is absolutely terrible. First, their customer service line isn't even toll-free. Second, the support team is completely useless - worse than talking to a robot. At least a robot would follow procedures, but these folks clearly haven't received any real training. Where do I even send a formal complaint to Murad headquarters?
Awful customer service experience. Bought a moisturizer that pilled, felt sticky, and was drying to the skin. Murad did acknowledge this batch had texture problems but would only send a replacement if I paid to return the original product to them via post. The post office won't accept their freepost address, and even with proof of purchase, they keep insisting I return it that way. Their team is unhelpful and rude, quick to blame the customer rather than take responsibility. I won't be buying from them again.
I ordered online and tried calling to make some quick changes to my order, but they said it had already shipped even though it hadn't left yet. To make matters worse, they gave the wrong address to the carrier and my item had delivery issues. The carrier told me there was nothing they could do. I'd definitely recommend ordering from Sephora instead of directly from Murad Canada.
Stay away from this company. I ordered their back spray three weeks ago and got three separate emails claiming it was shipping and would arrive in three days. Complete lies. They don't actually have the item and keep sending false updates. The service is atrocious and I absolutely cannot recommend them. They offered a 20% discount on my next purchase - why would I ever shop with them again? I've disputed the charge with my card issuer and filed a complaint with consumer protection. Steer clear.
This was my first order on Murad's US website, though I've been a customer globally in the past. I had some trouble navigating the website and wanted customer service to help me apply my first-time shopper discount of 20% to adjust my payment. The first response was dismissive and unhelpful, and when I tried their live chat, I was told the system simply doesn't allow for that kind of change. This is frustrating - what about elderly customers trying to navigate complicated tech who need assistance? Would they really have to wait for delivery, return everything, get a refund, and then reorder just to use the discount? Your products aren't cheap and I made a substantial purchase. Is this really the customer experience you want to provide? There are definitely workarounds available instead of telling customers the system won't allow it. That's not good enough.
Very poor customer service. Ordered a serum a month ago and the pump is broken - still trying to get it resolved. Placed another order a week or so ago and it still hasn't arrived. I've tried calling multiple times but the phone lines aren't working and I get no email responses.
I placed an order on Black Friday and it was shipped via UPS. This afternoon someone rang my doorbell continuously - over 20 times for a full minute - while all my kids were sleeping. The guy had no uniform and no official UPS truck, just a regular Toyota. My husband went outside to grab the package and the driver basically threw it on the ground and took off. When I asked why he was pressing the doorbell so aggressively, things felt threatening. I was ready to call the police. I'm extremely upset that Murad shared my home address with this person. It was an awful, scary experience.
Murad products are genuinely excellent and the most effective skincare I've found. I'm absolutely devoted to Invisiscar because it completely transformed my complexion and dramatically reduced the look of acne scars and discoloration. I've tried nearly every skincare product available and nothing comes close to these results. Their retinol serum is wonderful as well.
Murad products are truly amazing and hands down the most effective skincare I've ever tried. I'm completely obsessed with their Invisiscar line - it genuinely transformed my skin and significantly reduced the appearance of scars and dark spots from past acne issues. I've tested practically every skincare brand available and nothing compares to these results. Their retinol serum is fantastic too.
First time trying Murad products - I applied their face oil and blue acne serum one evening. The next morning my face was extremely swollen and puffy with my eyes sunken in, making my face look twice its normal size. I initially thought it was something I ate, but after two weeks of not using anything and checking with doctors, the severe rash and swelling finally went away. Then about a week later I decided to give Murad another chance, only to wake up with the same ballooned face and severe rash. That's when I realized the products were the culprit. I won't be using Murad again. The reaction includes an intense itchy hot rash with significant swelling that takes a long time to disappear.
