What Shoppers Say About Myer Australia
Myer Australia has a polarized review distribution with 21 customer ratings, averaging 3.7 out of 5. Two-thirds of reviewers give five-star ratings, indicating satisfaction from a segment of customers. However, one-third of reviewers give one-star ratings with serious, recurring complaints about customer service quality, order fulfillment issues, and inadequate resolution processes.
Negative reviews consistently cite unresponsive and script-reading customer service representatives who lack authority to resolve problems, necessitating time-consuming trips to physical stores. Shoppers report significant order management failures including unexplained cancellations (sometimes repeatedly for the same item), multiple shipments in separate boxes, and incorrect item specifications (wrong sizes). Additional concerns include product quality issues (used or defective items), slow service, and one case where a compromised eGift card led to fraudulent purchases with minimal merchant accountability. Shoppers describe AI chatbots as ineffective and express frustration with pricing relative to product quality.

Sorted by: Most recentThe online customer service at Myer is rigid and unhelpful, just staff reading from scripts. As a regular shopper I noticed my receipt had the wrong street address. I reached out right away to fix it but nobody could help. Tried multiple times and the team has zero idea what service means, much less ability to correct their own error. No supervisors available either. This is totally unacceptable for a company supposedly focused on customer experience.
First and final time ordering from here. Bought 5 items but they sent them in 4 separate boxes which is annoying. One item got cancelled after waiting a week and a half. I reordered it since it showed in stock and even paid extra for faster shipping to avoid having to buy more stuff. They cancelled it again. Tried ordering a third time and cancelled once more. That's when I threw in the towel and won't be coming back.
The service here moves at a snail's pace and the team doesn't seem interested in actually helping. The stuff they sell doesn't seem worth what they're charging for it either.
Myer sent me an eGift card through email for a return but my email got hacked. Someone used that card without permission to buy cameras and Myer shipped them out anyway even though the address wasn't mine. When I brought this up, Myer basically said too bad. Lost nearly 400 dollars. Won't be shopping there ever again. Be warned, they won't look out for you.
Absolutely no customer service. AI bots are useless. Ordered a 3 pack of underwear in size S online and got it sealed shut. When I opened it up, they smelled worn and were all size M instead. Called customer service and got told to just take it into a store. That ate up 2 hours of my day plus parking costs. Store said they'd refund me but I only got part of the money. Called customer service again and they wanted to give me a gift card for the rest. After 30 more minutes on the phone they finally agreed to send the remaining balance back. All told I wasted 4 hours, paid for parking, and had miserable phone conversations. I'm going to David Jones from now on.
Just awful customer service. Their chatbots are worthless. I placed an online order for a 3 pack of size S underwear and when I got it the box was sealed shut. Opened it up and not only did they smell used, they were actually size M. Got on the phone with customer service and they basically told me to bring it to a physical store. Spent 2 hours of my day plus paid for parking just to return the items. Store told me they processed the refund but I only got partial money back. Called customer service again and they offered a gift card for the difference. After another half hour on the phone they finally said they'd send the rest back to my card. Between 4 hours wasted, parking fees, and multiple frustrating phone calls, I'm done. Switching to David Jones for good.
Received a necklace that arrived shattered because the packing job was so bad. Google prompted me to write a review but they rejected it. Really disappointed with the whole thing. Not planning to shop here again.
Juliano from the Cambridge section at Bondi delivered outstanding customer service. Much appreciated!
This was my first visit to the Liverpool location and I bought some Skechers shoes. Stephen was the guy helping me out and he's seriously one of the most hardworking and customer-focused people I've come across. I usually shop at the Parramatta store but honestly don't get the same treatment. Watched this guy running back and forth helping nearly 10 different customers in under an hour. Fantastic job Stephen, really appreciate it.
Big shout out to Cherry at the Liverpool store in the blender section. My wife and I were both blown away by how helpful and kind she was. She actually helped us get a great deal on a Breville blender. You don't find many employees like her anymore who genuinely care. Would love for management to pass along our thanks and let her know how much we appreciated her.
