Owlet Baby Care Reviews
What Shoppers Say About Owlet Baby Care
Owlet Baby Care receives overwhelmingly negative feedback, with 18 shoppers rating the store 1.6 out of 5. The most consistent complaint centers on product reliability and hardware failures, particularly with monitoring devices stopping unexpectedly after a few months of use. Customers report frequent connectivity issues, false alarms, and app malfunctions. The second major issue is customer service: shoppers describe support as unresponsive, unhelpful, and unwilling to honor warranty claims, with some customers reporting weeks of ignored emails and disputes over registration versus purchase dates for warranty eligibility.
A small percentage of reviewers acknowledge the product works initially, but any defect triggers frustration with support processes. Additional complaints include regional app availability issues, incompatibility with smart home systems like Google Home, and design problems such as an overly bright camera light that distracts infants. Only a handful of the reviews submitted express satisfaction, and these appear to be conditional on the device functioning without problems. The combination of reliability concerns and poor after-sale support creates a significant trust issue for potential buyers.

Sorted by: Most recentAbsolutely terrible! Worked great for the first three months then just stopped reading correctly. The alarm keeps going off multiple times each night with a message about difficulty getting a reading. I'm getting no sleep because of it. Sent emails to the support address and have been ignored for weeks. The other contact doesn't respond either. Don't waste your money on this, they're really bad at what they do.
Pretty disappointed with this purchase, honestly. It's not set up to work with Google Home, keeps disconnecting unexpectedly, and there's lag when I try to pull up video clips. The blue light on the camera is really bright and catches my baby's attention, making him want to play with the shadows. Not happy overall. The clipping system that hides the cables is nice though. Didn't get the sock so I can't comment on that part.
I'm extremely upset with Owlet. For nearly three years I relied on this monitor and then it abruptly stopped working without any warning. Hardware failure, completely unresponsive. No power problems, no changes to my network, just stopped. As the primary caregiver for two toddlers, this monitor is essential. I went a week struggling without it before calling support and hitting a wall. I talked to someone claiming to be a supervisor who was completely useless. Instead of acknowledging clear hardware failure, they kept insisting I change my wifi settings even though nothing changed years ago, then they shut down the chat saying they couldn't help. A company that claims to care about child safety shows zero empathy or willingness to help their actual customers. Look elsewhere for a monitor from a company that actually supports their products.
My owlet sock base station stopped connecting to wifi after just under ten months. Then Owlet refused to honor the one year warranty they advertise. They decided to use my purchase date instead of registration date. My daughter was born in January but I registered the device then as instructed. The base quit working in December after less than a year of actual use. I gave support all the proof they asked for and they turned me down anyway. When I followed their troubleshooting steps including a factory reset, the base completely died. Gave them documentation of that too and they still refused a replacement. I spent over two hundred bucks and it quit after ten months. The sock itself is great, but it's really upsetting they wouldn't stand behind their warranty that's clearly listed on the website.
They sold me this dream sock even though the app to use it isn't available in my region. When I reached out about the issue, customer support had no solution. This is a total rip off and I would not recommend it.
It's a great product when it actually works. But the second something goes wrong, you're dealing with their terrible customer service. They'll bounce you around forever instead of actually fixing your problem. We needed a replacement sensor and they wouldn't help, just kept trying to get us to call a repair shop in the UK that never responds. A product is only as good as its support and theirs is absolutely awful. Can only give one star because of that.
We're on our second camera in half a year and it's been aggravating the entire time. They said they'd email me a prepaid label to return the first one and they never did. I asked about it once and it still didn't show up. Been trying to get in touch about issues with the second camera and nobody responds. Honestly frustrated. We do love the sock but the camera dies in the middle of the night and I have no way of knowing my baby is upset because it just stops working. Had to buy a regular monitor too. Would get a refund on the camera if I thought they'd actually give me one.
I seriously cannot praise the dream duo enough. After my emergency c-section, the first weeks home with our baby were incredibly hard. Being a first time mother and in severe pain, getting to him quickly was difficult. My husband had him on his side of the bed at first and being able to pull up the camera on my phone whenever I needed to check on him was so comforting, words don't even do it justice. Recovery with a newborn is brutal, and that base station sitting right there took away so much stress and worry. I could actually rest because I knew the base would alert me if there was any issue. The sock is really soft and comfy on his little foot. Night photography on the camera is excellent. Two way talking works great. No wifi issues at all. Don't listen to the negative reviews, because for us this product has truly been a lifesaver and I owe Owlet so much gratitude.
I honestly can't speak highly enough about the dream duo. I had an emergency c-section and was heavily medicated those first couple weeks when we brought our baby home. Being a first time mom in that much pain, I struggled to get to him quickly. My partner had him sleeping on his side of the bed initially and being able to check the app whenever I wanted to see the camera feed and know he was safe was incredibly reassuring. A newborn is tough, especially when you're dealing with recovery, and having the base station right there by the bed gave me real peace of mind. I actually got sleep knowing the base would alert me if something was wrong. The sock feels great on his foot and he doesn't mind it at all. Night vision on the camera is crystal clear. The two way audio works perfectly. We had zero wifi problems. Don't let bad reviews discourage you, because this product has genuinely been a lifesaver for our family and I'm so grateful for it.
Their customer service basically doesn't exist. They either try their hardest to be as unhelpful as possible or they completely ignore you. For a product that costs so much, you'd think they could invest in training their team to actually answer emails, but apparently that's too much to ask. They can't even solve actual problems. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE. These people are total scammers.
