What Shoppers Say About Primary.com
Primary.com shoppers are deeply divided. Satisfied customers praise the brand's durability, vibrant color selection, and reliable customer service. Many report ordering repeatedly and passing clothing down to other children as a testament to quality. However, a significant portion of reviewers report severe shrinkage issues despite following care instructions, with items shrinking two to three sizes after washing. Some customers also experienced billing problems, inventory issues, and slower-than-expected delivery times.
The polarized feedback suggests that Primary.com's products may have inconsistent quality control, particularly around fabric shrinkage. While the brand's colorful aesthetic and durability appeal to loyal customers, potential buyers should be cautious about sizing and carefully follow care instructions, or consider sizing up significantly to account for possible shrinkage.

Sorted by: Most recentWe really can't say enough good things about Primary. I started getting clothes for my son when he was a baby and the durability has always been amazing. The pieces last so well that we've passed tons of them down to other kids. I've only had one issue with quality and Primary fixed it right away with a replacement. I really appreciate the vibrant colors, the UPF and organic cotton selections, and how simple and classic the designs are without cheesy logos. I've even started picking up some adult stuff for myself - great basics that actually match really nicely with the kids' colors and patterns. I could definitely see a moment where my son and I match in the future! Primary is what I reach for when I want comfortable, strong, and quality made pieces for my son and sometimes for me too.
I've placed close to a dozen orders with them. Delivery could be faster, but everything else has been solid every time. We really dig their colorful selection, especially since a lot of other brands seem stuck on that dull beige vibe that's been everywhere lately.
MAKE SURE YOU CHECK YOUR CREDIT CARD CHARGES!!! This company charged me an extra $22 without asking. They said it was shipping, but I never got my order anyway, so I don't think I ever will. I had to contact my bank and dispute the charge. THIS IS A SCAM.
I was excited about finding reasonably priced children's sleepwear that seemed good quality. Unfortunately, I ended up being let down. First, nothing stayed in stock - items kept going out all the time. We also ordered a size up hoping our kids would grow into it, but even that didn't help. We washed it cold and air dried, yet it still shrunk. And it kept getting smaller with every wash, which made the whole purchase pointless. Honestly, not worth the money - I'd skip this company.
Everything I bought shrinks down 2 to 3 sizes. The dresses shrink so much they end up looking like shirts instead. And every onesie I ordered could literally only be worn once before they were too small. My daughter's dolls fit in them now. The description says preshrunk but that's clearly not the case! Total waste of money!!!
The undershorts were really great - colors popped nicely and fit exactly like the sizing guide said they would. But I'm pretty disappointed with the three dresses I got at the same time. When I washed them the first time following the care label instructions and hung them to dry, they shrank down about 30 percent, mostly in the length. After that wash, the quality looked really poor - tons of wrinkles that just wouldn't come out even after 10 minutes in a hot dryer. I'll probably grab more shorts since we wear those more anyway, but I'm going to look elsewhere for knit dresses.
When my order arrived, there was definitely a weird odor coming from the items. I looked into it more and found out they're not even certified organic. You're basically getting scammed here. Plus, the clothes shrank when I tried washing them to get rid of the smell. Definitely won't be ordering from them again.
The actual clothes were perfect - right what was pictured and fit true to size. My issue is totally with how they pack things. The boxes are way oversized and there's no padding or bags inside - stuff just gets tossed around loose. Things could definitely get wet or damaged. Feels pretty careless and unprofessional, especially since I paid extra for faster shipping. I'm going to think twice before ordering again.
Their jackets are fantastic, but the rest of the clothes have been problematic. Washed a sweatshirt for the first time and the colors bled all over.
I've been ordering from them probably 15 times over four years, mostly kids items with one tee for myself. I'm not going to comment on style since that's personal preference and you know what you're buying anyway. The actual quality though is really solid - no random rips showing up, no seams coming apart, and sizing is always spot on. I actually prefer them to both Hanna Andersson and Carter's. While I do like Hanna, this gives the same quality at a better price. When I've needed to return something, it was quick and easy. I love how timeless and simple their designs are instead of trendy stuff that looks dated fast. They've been great, and I'd tell anyone to give them a shot. As someone who watches their budget, this is honestly one of the few retail places I shop because the value is there.
