What Shoppers Say About Samash.Com
Samash.Com receives overwhelmingly negative feedback, with shoppers reporting serious issues around warranty claims, gift card and store credit disputes, and unresponsive customer service. Many reviewers describe feeling misled or wronged, citing refusals to honor guarantees and credits, lack of communication about orders, and rude interactions with representatives. The store's transition following the original company's bankruptcy in 2024 appears to have created confusion around what previous benefits and credits are honored.
A small number of shoppers report positive experiences, particularly those who remember the store's physical locations and have had issues resolved through the online store. One reviewer praised the company's handling of a damaged shipment, including covering return costs and processing a refund quickly. However, these positive experiences are rare exceptions in a review profile dominated by complaints about broken promises and poor customer service.

Sorted by: Most recentReally happy with my experience. Back when they had physical locations, I always had great service, and the online store has been just as good. Recently I got a box that was damaged during shipping through FedEx. Sam Ash covered the return cost and had my full refund processed the very next day after it landed in their warehouse in Florida. Every interaction I've had with them has been top notch.
They refused to honor the warranty even when I showed them their own website guarantee. There are plenty of better online retailers out there. Skip these guys.
WARNING: READ THIS FIRST!!! I called to ask about my balance on a music lesson gift card. The customer service representative was extremely rude and kept saying the same thing over and over: they don't accept any gift cards sold before July 2024, which is when the original company filed for bankruptcy. She explained that the current business is Emusic operating as Sam Ash Music and they're not taking on any old liabilities. When I asked for help, she just told me to dispute it with my credit card company instead of offering any real solution. This isn't the Sam Ash you think it is. They're using the name but it's a completely different operation.
They basically stole from me. I traded in my drum kit and got store credit in return. Now they're saying they won't honor it. Do yourself a favor and shop anywhere else.
Zero customer service here. I ordered a Zildjian cymbal set from the local location and they never even called when it got in. I had to go down there myself to pick it up. Management promised me a gift card but I never got it. When I tried to email asking about using it on another order, nobody responded. Won't be coming back.
Got a microphone order that sat in processing for 5 days. They charged my card and then sent an email saying it was out of stock. No customer service follow up whatsoever. That's bad business. Go with Sweetwater or Guitar Center instead.
Placed an order right before the holidays and 14 days later still nothing and no answers. Shipping should take 3 business days max. After a week they sent me a shipping notification, but the tracking showed USPS never actually received anything. I emailed multiple times with no response. On day 12 I finally got through by phone and asked them to cancel and refund my money. The rep gave me the runaround. I called back again on the 6th and got the same empty promises about getting back to me. Instead of helping, they just sent an email saying they were trying to contact the store. That was the second time I asked for a cancellation and refund. I had to file a dispute with PayPal to get my money back.
I'm really upset with how this company operates. I opened a Sam Ash credit card and ordered 6 items. Got everything and was charged for all 6 pieces. About a week later I returned 4 items to their physical location. They took them back no problem and told me I'd get a credit within a week to 10 days. Nothing showed up. When I followed up, they claimed that Synchrony bank never processed the original payment, so they won't refund me. Meanwhile the charges are definitely real on my Synchrony statement and they won't help. I'm dealing with Synchrony directly now on a case, but I'm worried I'm about to get stuck with over 300 bucks. This is straight up fraud and everyone should stay away.
Got ripped off by this place!!!!! The guitars I received were damaged and in bad shape. Don't trust this company! Straight up fraudsters. The aftermarket case and bridge were terrible, pickups were misaligned and practically falling off the guitar. Total garbage!!!!!
Terrible company and even worse customer service. I spoke with two different people about making a return within the 45 day window and they both tried to talk me out of it, saying I should think about it for a few days. When I asked for return shipping labels, they gave me the runaround, saying they needed to get approval and would call back. Now I'm stuck paying to ship the items back on my own dime just for maybe getting my money back. Stay away from these people. They'll nickel and dime you at every turn.
