It might have been that way out of the box but I didn't spot it right away. Either way, something on an expensive bag should hold together longer than three days. I figured they'd stand behind their products and fix or replace it. Instead they told me to go to a local store and pay for repairs myself, or they'd send it back to Italy for a $100 fee. That was their best offer. I recently bought a Louis Vuitton wallet with a small defect and they replaced it immediately no questions asked. I won't be shopping at Stella McCartney again.
Don't buy Stella McCartney products. I got three pairs of their Adidas running shoes at once, one as a gift for my partner. None of them fit right. The sizing is way off, like if it says size 38 it's actually at least a full size smaller. All three pairs had the same problem. The design is poorly made with bad measurements. There's also a cheap plastic-like material that cuts your heel. As someone who runs regularly, I trusted Adidas, but this collaboration with Stella McCartney makes me question the brand completely. The shoes are off by a size in measurements and uncomfortable enough to hurt your feet. That's completely unacceptable whether you're spending a little or a lot of money. Got the chunky loafers and one of the chain links chipped off in two spots from just a tiny bump on a table leg the second time wearing them. I've never experienced worse customer service. Bought some boots from their Adidas collaboration and they turned out to be defective. Stella McCartney told me to contact Adidas, but Adidas won't help because I bought them through a third-party seller. Meanwhile, Stella McCartney refuses to step up and help either. Even after I showed them Adidas's policy on third-party purchases, they still won't support the claim. It's absolutely unacceptable.
Put in a pre-order for a winter coat a couple weeks ago with an expected delivery of December 7th. Checked back today and they've updated the website to January 25th. Called them up and found out they're dealing with production delays. But here's the thing: they never reached out to me or sent any kind of notification. All I got was the initial order confirmation.
