What Shoppers Say About totes
Totes is rated 1.0 out of 5 by 3 shoppers, with all reviews giving one star. Shoppers report serious quality issues with umbrellas, including metal poles that are too thin and flimsy, causing products to fall apart after minimal use. Beyond product defects, customers express extreme frustration with customer service, describing the company as impossible to reach through calls or emails and citing unresolved refund requests that have lasted months after items were returned to the warehouse.
The consistent theme across reviews is disappointment with both merchandise durability and the company's responsiveness to customer issues. Shoppers note that while Totes maintains a reputation for reliability, recent experience suggests the brand is not meeting quality expectations or honoring its service commitments, leading reviewers to recommend avoiding the company.

Sorted by: Most recentOrdered some boots that ended up not fitting right. Sent them back for a refund within a couple days and they got to the warehouse on February 18th. It's been forever and I still haven't seen my money. This company is basically impossible to reach - they ignore calls and emails constantly. I'm out cash for something I don't even have anymore. Save yourself the headache and shop somewhere else. Really disappointed with how they handle things.
Picked up a Totes telescopic umbrella with a wooden handle thinking I was getting something reliable since Totes has always had a decent reputation. Unfortunately it only lasted through a couple of uses before falling apart. The metal pole in the middle is way too thin and flimsy for what it's supposed to do. I'd skip Totes products.
Got a Totes Super Compact umbrella with a wooden handle because I wanted something sturdy enough to toss in my work bag but still solid enough for windy days. Saw it at a major retailer and thought it would be perfect - the curved handle looked nice and it was one of the pricier options in that category, so I figured the quality would back up the price tag from a name brand like Totes. Turns out that wasn't true at all. Didn't use it for the first couple weeks, but when I finally opened it up I was let down right away. There's no automatic button on it which is fine for a compact size, but one of the metal arms snapped before I even used it. The retailer was cool about swapping it out though. The second one was somehow worse. The build quality is surprisingly bad across the board. The opening mechanism is cheap plastic that barely functions because the locking mechanism doesn't actually lock. When you extend it the metal shaft feels unstable and weak, and the arms look so delicate I was nervous they might just break if I wasn't super gentle with them.
