What Shoppers Say About Transunion
Transunion receives overwhelmingly negative feedback, with shoppers reporting severe technical issues on the website, including login failures, account access problems, and account lockouts. Customers consistently describe customer service as poor, with representatives frequently transferring calls between departments, dropping calls, and being unable to resolve issues in a timely manner. Several reviewers mention frustration with recent system changes, including concerns about an AI system implementation that has reportedly caused service disruptions. A small minority of users report positive experiences, noting straightforward account setup and helpful features like fraud alert reminders.
Common complaints center on the reliability and security of the platform. Reviewers express concerns about overly strict security measures that appear to malfunction, preventing legitimate users from accessing their accounts. Some shoppers question whether Transunion should maintain access to personal credit data without explicit consent. The consistent theme across negative reviews is that the company's technical infrastructure is broken and customer support lacks the training and resources to address widespread problems effectively.

Sorted by: Most recentI never even asked for their service. They got my info from my bank, which is fine. The problem is the information is wrong. They show me as not registered to vote even though I'm registered, vote in every election, and even ran for local office. I emailed them and called them to fix it. But they keep passing the responsibility to my bank and telling me to get documents from the local government. Why should I have to do their job when I never asked for their service? I explained everything but the representative wasn't truthful with me. The next day they emailed saying they can't update it and the wrong information stays. Are you serious? This is rude.
I see my credit score in my bank app. It barely explained why my score went down from 825 to 795, losing 30 points. So I got a credit report from Transunion, who gives the score to my bank. Every creditor is listed and everything is green except one yellow section meaning I've been paying well. Nothing explains the 30 point drop. I'm desperate to understand where I messed up or if I even messed up at all because it could be something like closing an account. I waited forever to talk to someone. The representative barely speaks English. He mentions something about real estate and a balance. I ask him to say it again. It makes no sense. He goes quiet. Then stammers. It's obvious to me they're hiring people who can barely communicate. They can't explain anything. He says something and then he just hangs up. I can hear what sounds like either him missing the button or taking his headset off right before we get disconnected. I think he didn't understand anything about this so that's why he hung up. They'd probably claim it was accidental.
Isn't it wonderful when a company has total control over your financial future and treats you like dirt? The fact that they haven't even closed this account shows you everything you need to know about how they handle regular people like us. They keep dropping my credit score for absolutely no reason. Maybe they don't like that I work hard to keep my credit good so they just decide to wreck it for no real reason. Amazing. They charge ridiculous fees just to see your score, and then trick you into getting a 3 report thing only to discover you have to pay even more after already paying. Brilliant. My account is constantly going down for maintenance. It's crazy. They can do whatever they want whenever they want and we can't do anything about it. They're huge, we're tiny, they're powerful, we're powerless. They can erase us from existence and we just have to accept it. We have to beg for scraps because everything depends on credit scores. What a messed up system. We just have to deal with it.
This place is absolutely awful. Their website is a nightmare and their phone system is even worse.
