What Shoppers Say About Transunion
Transunion receives overwhelmingly negative feedback, with shoppers reporting severe technical issues on the website, including login failures, account access problems, and account lockouts. Customers consistently describe customer service as poor, with representatives frequently transferring calls between departments, dropping calls, and being unable to resolve issues in a timely manner. Several reviewers mention frustration with recent system changes, including concerns about an AI system implementation that has reportedly caused service disruptions. A small minority of users report positive experiences, noting straightforward account setup and helpful features like fraud alert reminders.
Common complaints center on the reliability and security of the platform. Reviewers express concerns about overly strict security measures that appear to malfunction, preventing legitimate users from accessing their accounts. Some shoppers question whether Transunion should maintain access to personal credit data without explicit consent. The consistent theme across negative reviews is that the company's technical infrastructure is broken and customer support lacks the training and resources to address widespread problems effectively.

Sorted by: Most recentIf you ever need a credit report, please ask them to use literally any other credit agency instead of Transunion. Their customer service is absolutely terrible. The website is completely broken. You can log in fine one day and get blocked the next. Their security seems way too strict and isn't working right. When you call for help, they make you answer a bunch of questions, then connect you to someone who asks all the same questions over again. Somewhere in the middle of this nightmare, the agent sends you a link to verify who you are. After you do that, it opens a completely new session where you have to put in all your information one more time. They keep making customers repeat the same steps again and again without ever actually acknowledging the problem on their end. Transunion isn't a credit reporting agency. It's a credit nightmare agency. I hate them.
I tried to change my phone provider FIVE TIMES and couldn't do it because Transunion keeps messing around with some AI system. CIAM.TUI is the reason this whole thing fell apart. As someone who used to run IT departments, I've seen plenty of problems, and I'm worried Transunion's AI experiment is going to cause real damage.
I'm taking back my complaint. I give up. I'm hoping you'll bring back my credit score that I worked really hard to build. Thanks.
Setting up an account was straightforward, and the website even reminded me when my fraud alert needed refreshing. Everything's working well so far.
Totally incompetent operation with terrible customer service and a broken website. The only reason they're still around is because they illegally hold onto people's data without permission. I never signed up for anything, never gave them permission to have my information, but they keep it anyway. This is an illegal company that shouldn't exist.
For months now I've been struggling to log in and view my credit information. I've talked to many different people who keep bouncing me between departments and dropping calls. Their customer service training is clearly lacking. They're telling me it'll be a while before they fix their system so I can get to my info.
Ticketmaster told me about a security breach and gave me a code to sign up for credit monitoring on mytrueidentity. Between September 17 and 21, 2024, I spent roughly two hours following their exact instructions and it didn't work. I tried enrolling at least 7 times and called their customer service twice but they couldn't fix it. The reps sounded like they were calling from overseas. The error codes on their site didn't make sense. The second person kept telling me a supervisor would call within 72 hours. That time has passed and nobody called. Since they messed up enrolling me, I'm pretty sure their credit monitoring service is fake anyway. I'm grateful I didn't have to actually use this terrible company.
WARNING TO EVERYONE!!! This is a total scam operation! These people are fine with stealing from you, committing fraud, and getting away with it. They even seem to encourage scamming people through their terrible customer service. I feel dumb for not looking into this credit monitoring thing properly before signing up. Turns out they've been running this fraudulent scheme for way longer than I realized. They won't refund you for their intentional fraudulent charges and won't let you talk to a manager about the corporate fraud their staff promotes. They don't care if that money was supposed to be for groceries or gas. They literally stole from me. I was with them for literally ONE HOUR. I canceled right after paying the dollar for the fake free trial. They charged me the full monthly price anyway even though I canceled right away. I was absolutely furious when I found out. Read all the bad reviews everywhere because these people are proven crooks. I'm waiting for my credit card company to help me get my money back.
Transunion tanked my credit score when I opened a new bank account at Santander. I used their account switching service, but when my old account closed two weeks later, they never restored my original score. It's really strange because my old account had an overdraft I could use but never touched, and the new one doesn't have one. Their ratings seem totally made up and have nothing to do with your actual financial situation.
Their information is completely inaccurate. In my situation, they're saying I missed paying utility bills that actually belong to someone renting my property long term. Now my once excellent credit score looks bad and I'm going to have to deal with fixing this mess. They're ridiculous.
