Lots of hands-on work involved here, plus significant water being wasted. You fill up a plastic jug by hand with water, then the filtered stuff gets collected in a separate 1L plastic container. The unit processes about 2.5L of clean water but generates roughly 1.0L of waste water in the process. It needs electricity to run, which is another consideration. The filtered water comes out at room temperature, so unless you want to chill it yourself afterward, that's just how you're getting it. Doesn't feel like the most efficient system overall.
