What Shoppers Say About Aquasana
Shoppers rate Aquasana at 1.5 out of 5 based on 16 reviews, with the vast majority expressing serious dissatisfaction. The primary complaints center on chronic product defects (particularly leaking under-sink reverse osmosis systems), sluggish customer service that shoppers describe as rude and dismissive, and operational failures including a confusing website, lengthy shipping times (around 4 weeks to some regions), billing errors, and replacement parts that are difficult to identify and order. Several reviewers report repeated leaks causing water damage under sinks and difficulty obtaining replacement components or getting support for warranty coverage.
A small number of reviewers have had long-term success with Aquasana systems, but their positive experiences are heavily outweighed by accounts of product reliability issues and poor customer service. Shoppers note feeling trapped by the company's proprietary parts ecosystem, forced to purchase replacements directly from Aquasana despite slow delivery times and limited alternatives. The consensus suggests the combination of hardware defects, customer service problems, and operational inefficiencies has driven many to seek competitors, particularly for filter replacements through faster-shipping retailers.

Sorted by: Most recentThis company doesn't put customers first at all. My under sink RO unit started leaking and I called for help. They said it was the o-rings and placed an order, but charged me shipping even though I'm supposed to get free parts and shipping with my subscription. A week passed with a leaking system and nothing arrived. When I checked on it, they told me the o-rings were out of stock and they had no idea when they'd get more. I asked about getting a sump unit instead as a workaround, and they agreed to order one, but yep, still charging me for shipping. Look, I work in customer service myself, and this was such an easy win where they could've made me a happy customer for life. Instead they lost me trying to save a few bucks on shipping. It's penny wise and pound foolish.
Stay away from these people. I bought their countertop unit and right out of the box I heard rattling coming from inside the sealed motor section. Pieces had clearly broken off in there. I called to report the defective unit and asked for a return label so I could send it back and get a replacement. Their response was that I had to pay to ship it back. They completely refused to take responsibility for sending me broken equipment and made me foot the bill to return their garbage.
Got this under sink system as a gift and was really looking forward to it, but my experience has been awful. The customer support team was unhelpful and the system kept failing. After several months of being on hold for hours and trying different fixes that only worked briefly, I asked for my money back. They refused because I was past their 30 day window. I'd tell anyone looking for a water filter to check out something else. This company and their product just aren't worth the headache.
Please don't waste your money on this. My plumber recommended it, so I installed it. Two days later a cheap component broke and flooded my entire basement. I had to call an emergency plumber who took one look at the part and said he couldn't believe they'd even use something so poorly made. I'm seeing the same complaints from other people. Our water is still cloudy and I'm thinking about having the whole thing ripped out and going back to water delivery service. The flood ruined our wiring, damaged a wall, shot water across the room and destroyed our wifi router too. Absolute garbage product.
Been using the Rino whole house system with salt free conditioner, UV filter and the pro kit since 2017 and I haven't had a single problem. Initially I was a bit frustrated that my water still had spots, but I learned that no softener actually takes out the calcium and magnesium anyway. It just changes things at a chemical level to stop limescale from building up in your appliances. My water tested at 100 on the meter versus 500 without the filter. I just ran out of my last replacement filter so I need to order again. I've seen a ton of negative reviews lately and I'm hoping the company didn't fall apart like a lot of businesses seem to have done.
