What Shoppers Say About BHLDN
BHLDN receives overwhelmingly negative feedback from shoppers, with 21 reviews averaging 1.8 out of 5. The dominant complaint across reviews centers on customer service failures: representatives provide false or vague information about inventory and pricing, outsourced support staff appear undertrained, and return and exchange processes are confusing and poorly executed. Multiple shoppers report ordering items that were not actually in stock, missing delivery dates, unfulfilled promises about return labels, and billing errors that required repeated contact to resolve. In-store experiences have also disappointed some visitors, with reports of dismissive staff behavior. A small portion of shoppers (19 percent) gave five-star ratings, but the specific reasons for their satisfaction are not detailed in the available reviews.
The company's return policy emerges as a significant pain point, with at least one shopper reporting they remained entangled in the process for nearly a year and ended up paying for two wedding dresses. International customers face additional obstacles, as one UK-based shopper noted that returning items would trigger customs charges. While BHLDN specializes in wedding attire and occasion wear, the service issues documented here suggest the shopping experience often falls short of expectations, particularly for high-stakes purchases like wedding gowns where accuracy and reliability are essential.

Sorted by: Most recentCustomer service gave me false information and my dress never showed up. I bought a wedding gown that apparently wasn't actually in stock. A specific arrival date was promised, but when it didn't come I reached out about the tracking issue. They assured me it would arrive the next day. Instead, it came back as returned by another retailer through their email system. Customer service never replied to my follow up messages. I ordered another dress and the same tracking problem happened. I'm assuming it'll have the same outcome.
Their customer service is absolutely the worst. If I could give them negative stars I would. The company outsources their support team and these people have no idea what they're doing. To make a long story short, because of their return and exchange policy, I've ended up paying for two wedding dresses and almost a year later I'm still waiting for my refund on the first one. The dresses themselves are beautiful but their customer service has completely ruined my experience with the company. Such a shame.
The customer service team was deliberately vague when I asked about sale pricing and when items would be back in stock. I took a chance on a dress that was too tight, especially since the rep refused to tell me whether alterations were possible, and I'm in the UK so returning anything would mean customs charges. The very next day the same dress went on sale for half off. When I asked them to match the price or give me a discount, they refused. Sure, they're not legally required to, but it left a bad taste in my mouth and I won't be recommending them. They're just another big company that cares more about money than customers. Go to an independent bridal shop instead if you're able to.
After buying various pieces, I needed to return some items. When I tried to look up my order online the system said it couldn't find it. I emailed support and was told they'd sent me a return label to fix the site problem, but I never got it from one agent. I emailed again and a different agent said return labels don't work well with gmail addresses. If they already knew that was an issue, why even try sending one? They asked if I had a different email and I said no. Then they told me they'd mail me a label in five business days. I asked about my return deadline since I was running out of time in my thirty day window and now five days would be used just waiting for it. One agent said they'd extend my window by ten days, but five of those would be gone waiting for the label. How does a company not have a website that works, not accept gmail, and solve problems this badly? This is ridiculous customer service for an Anthropologie brand. I can't recommend them to anyone.
Don't waste your money here. Like everyone else says, this company is terrible. I purchased shoes for an event and got charged incorrectly. It took multiple contacts with their team to fix the billing issue. The item was backordered so I kept checking the website hoping it would come back. When I finally saw it marked as "JUST ARRIVED" I was thrilled, but called to confirm and customer service said they actually don't have it in stock. This is honestly a scam and I won't shop here again.
We came in for a wedding dress appointment on a weekend when the shop wasn't busy. My sister was excited to try on gowns and our main sales associate was nice and helpful. However, the other staff members were absolutely awful. Two women kept hovering right where we wanted to look at dresses, rolling their eyes at us like we were doing something wrong just by looking at inventory and actually handling the merchandise. One even told us to sit down and implied we shouldn't be touching the dresses we came to potentially buy. It was so rude and condescending. My sister found a beautiful dress elsewhere for about eighteen hundred dollars instead, so we didn't spend anything here. It's disappointing that employees would act this way. I'll never return and I'm making sure my friends know not to shop there either.
I'd give them zero stars if I could. Their customer service is absolutely terrible. It's obvious these people have had zero training and don't know what they're doing. I placed my order late April and their site said delivery would be seven to ten business days. By mid-May with no updates, I followed up and was told it wouldn't arrive until early June, almost two months after I ordered. No apology or any solution, just take it or leave it. By then I'd be moving, so I asked them to change my address but they said they couldn't and just cancelled my whole order without permission. I wish I'd seen these reviews first and I hope others do before ordering. This company is completely incompetent and will cause serious headaches. Skip them entirely.
Worst shopping experience ever. I ordered my wedding dress a month ago but received the wrong size. When I asked about returning it, they said I had to pay for international return shipping even though it was their error. I was frustrated but called anyway. They told me I could request reimbursement for return postage which I agreed to do. They sent the correct size after I shipped the wrong one back. But they used slow first-class mail from the post office which takes up to twenty five days to deliver. Did they forget I already paid forty five dollars for shipping when I placed the order? Now a whole month has passed and my dress is still stuck in customs somewhere in Japan. I need it in three weeks for my wedding. I'm really unhappy with their handling of this situation. First time buying from BHLDN will also be my last. I can't recommend them.
I really wish I'd read the reviews first. My experience is just like many others: a company claiming to ship globally but having no clue how to actually do it, plus the worst customer service I've ever dealt with. Living abroad and hunting for a wedding dress, I was excited to find BHLDN with my size available. I had a great virtual consultation and tried to place an order. The online system wouldn't process it so they told me to call customer service internationally. The rep had trouble understanding my accent but eventually got my address correct and the order went through. Days later I checked shipping and there was an issue with a missing commercial invoice, something pretty important for international orders. I assumed the courier would contact the store since it was their mistake. A week passed and I got an email saying my dress was returned. Then began my nightmare trying to reach their support team multiple times. No one had answers.
I really regret not reading the reviews before ordering. I got a designer dress to wear as mother of the bride and it had a huge fabric defect right in the front that anyone could see. Still, I loved the overall dress and wanted to exchange it for the same one in the hopes the replacement would be flawless. Turns out they don't have my size available anymore. The customer service person wasn't helpful at all, just basically said they could give me money back and nothing else. This is supposed to be a company serving brides and their families, right? Shouldn't they at least try to find something similar or maybe the same dress in a different color? Nope. Won't be shopping there again if I can help it.
