What Shoppers Say About Flipbelt
Flipbelt has a deeply divided customer base. Some shoppers praise the belt's solid construction and substantial build quality, along with occasional exceptional customer service experiences where representatives responded quickly with replacements and prepaid return labels. However, the majority of reviews highlight severe customer service failures, with shoppers reporting unanswered emails, delayed refunds taking weeks to process, and difficulty obtaining returns or replacements for wrong sizes. The belt's weight and heat retention also concern some users, and there is confusion about proper use (the company discourages phones in the main zippered compartment).
The persistent theme across negative reviews is poor communication and support responsiveness. While a handful of customers received impressive service, many others describe being ignored after multiple contact attempts. Combined with concerns about the product's practicality for its intended purpose, these service inconsistencies appear to be the primary driver of the low overall rating. Shoppers considering Flipbelt should be aware that quality issues and support gaps are common complaints that may significantly impact the purchase experience.

Sorted by: Most recentThe belt itself is solid. Here's my advice though: hope whatever size you pick actually works, because getting help with a return is painful. I sent 2 separate emails asking about returning my order and got crickets. Finally got a reply several days later on the 24th, but I had to wait until the 7th to actually see the refund come through. Over two weeks of waiting after I first tried to kick off the return process.
I picked up the zippered version for some trail runs. Got it quickly and their support team was top notch. Right out of the box, I noticed how substantial this thing is compared to other similar belts for carrying small items. The weight makes me second guess what I'm actually carrying around. It gets pretty warm and uncomfortable because of how much bulk and width it has, though it's definitely functional for holding a phone, keys, and a compact water bottle. Worth noting that some variations and colors are actually manufactured in the USA, which might matter to you depending on your thoughts about global trade.
Picked up a couple at a trade show and got handed the wrong size. Followed up with 2 emails and still nothing. Really frustrated about this.
Their customer service genuinely impressed me. I ordered the wrong belt size and needed the right one fast for a trip coming up the next week. Sent them a message through their site and got a phone call back pretty quickly with a replacement belt arriving the very next day via mail. They even threw in a prepaid return envelope. Couldn't have asked for better handling of the situation.
Their customer service is absolutely terrible. Or maybe it doesn't actually exist. I've got a belt in the wrong size stuck with me and they won't help me send it back.
I've owned 2 of these zippered reflective belts, and honestly the quality leaves a lot to be desired. Same goes for their customer support. Don't grab this if you want to safely stash your phone while running. According to the company, phones shouldn't go in the zipped compartment at all. Instead, they're pushing you to use other pockets and flip the whole belt around. That sounds fine in theory, except the reflective bits are only on the outside. It makes zero sense to promote flipping the belt over when the whole point of reflective material is staying visible when it's dark. Here's the real issue: this product doesn't work well with their reflective feature AND keep your phone from bouncing around. You're stuck choosing one or the other. Flip the belt and you lose the visibility. Keep it regular and your stuff falls out. The company seems pretty clueless about what people actually need. Most reviews are stellar because folks rate things right when they arrive. Mine fell apart around month nine, but by then I couldn't change my rating.
The shopping experience on their site needs work. There's no size guide, just vague options to pick from before checkout. I ended up ordering the wrong size because of this. When I reached out to customer support to fix it, they basically ignored me and pretended I wasn't even trying to contact them.
This complaint is about their support, not the actual product. I placed an order for the FLIPBELT ELITE and waited days for it to show up. When I let them know it never arrived, they told me the postal carrier lost it somehow. Then they dropped the bomb that they can't send another one because it's out of stock. The whole thing felt sketchy because they never really proved they shipped anything in the first place. Seems like they decided lying was easier than being straight with a customer. That's not a company I want supporting. Zero respect for how they treat people. Not keeping this to myself either.
The gear here is really great. Got my order super fast, and their team was incredibly helpful. My first pair wasn't the right size, but they made it painless by giving me a prepaid shipping label. Grabbed the correct size next, and they covered the shipping that time too. Really impressed with how they handled everything.
