What Shoppers Say About LifeStraw
LifeStraw products have received predominantly negative feedback from shoppers, with 24 reviews averaging 1.6 out of 5. The most common complaints center on poor customer service experiences, including slow response times, unhelpful AI chatbot support, and difficulty obtaining replacements or refunds. Shoppers also report issues with product quality, including chemical odors and tastes that persist even after cleaning, leaking dispensers, clogged filters, and concerns that the filtration does not adequately remove viruses, heavy metals, and certain chemicals. Several reviewers noted the lack of a phone support line, making it difficult to resolve problems quickly.
A small percentage of shoppers gave positive ratings, suggesting some customers have had satisfactory experiences with LifeStraw products. However, the overwhelming majority of feedback indicates significant dissatisfaction with both the products themselves and the company's responsiveness to customer concerns. Common frustrations include unclear product specifications regarding filtration capabilities, difficulty understanding proper filter storage and maintenance, and the challenge of pursuing returns or replacements through an online-only system. These recurring issues suggest potential gaps in product quality control and customer support infrastructure.

Sorted by: Most recentReally unhappy with this company overall. Their European customer service is terrible. They ship from the Netherlands but if you want to return something, even if you're in a different country, you pay for return shipping yourself. Their support team doesn't actually care about customers. They'll reply to an email once and then ghost you after that. There's no phone number anywhere on their website so you can't call anyone. I returned their glass pitcher because it doesn't remove calcium buildup, which is a huge issue in Germany and lots of other European countries with older plumbing. Their website had zero info about this, and I only heard back from customer service the day after I got the product. I'm never buying from them again.
Got the LifeStraw Go and here's what I found: the cap gets stuck sometimes, so stuck that I actually drilled a hole in it to use a screwdriver to twist it off because the shape of the cap hurts my hand when I try to force it. At first the bottle felt a bit softer than my old one, but it's not uncomfortably soft. The look of it is really nice though. It does seem to improve the taste of the water, though I'm not sure if that's just my perception or if it's actually filtering better. Taking everything into account, as a normal day-to-day water bottle for light use, it's turned out to be much better than I expected and I'm happy with it.
Exactly what I needed for outdoor adventures. Arrived yesterday and I've already filtered and drank an entire bottle of water from a swamp. The water comes out tasting fresh and clean. Really happy with this purchase!
