What Shoppers Say About MyFonts
MyFonts is rated 1.8 out of 5 by 23 shoppers, with three-quarters of reviews giving one star. Shoppers who had positive experiences report straightforward purchases and successful downloads, with no complications. However, the overwhelming majority of reviewers report significant frustration with the platform, citing unclear product information (particularly regarding file formats), unhelpful customer service responses, and a font identification tool that returns too many results to be practical. Additional complaints include the requirement to provide payment information to download free font demos, mismatches between fonts displayed in the interface and what actually downloads, and concerns that the site pushes customers toward proprietary fonts rather than helping locate specific fonts they request.
The most serious customer service complaints involve representatives becoming unresponsive during troubleshooting, asking for information already provided, and declining refunds by pointing to terms in product descriptions that reviewers say they did not notice. One shopper expressed distrust of the platform's practices and payment requirements, while another was unable to use purchased fonts due to an unexpected file format that conflicted with their design software.

Sorted by: Most recentWanted two fonts for use in my design software. I found ones I liked and bought them, but couldn't get them to work. Turns out I needed TTF format but got OTF files instead. I asked about returning them but got told that the file format was mentioned in the product description, and since I accepted the terms, no refund. Honestly, I never saw that specification, and you can't complete a purchase without accepting those terms, so I was out the money. They care more about making sales than actually helping customers. Really disappointing how this all went. About a year later, someone else from the company reached out and worked with me. They let me repurchase one font on its own, and then refunded my original order and sent me a TTF version of what I needed. It's working great now. I'm grateful they made it right and I'm changing my rating because I think I probably wouldn't have heard from them if I hadn't left this review. Thanks for the help.
The site says the font demos are free, but you can't download them without giving your payment information. Why would I hand over my credit card details or PayPal info just to get free stuff? Doesn't feel trustworthy. I didn't finish the download because of this. After some back and forth, they did update the system so you can grab files without entering financial details, which is good. But trying to delete my review was unprofessional, and it took them making changes for me to feel better about it.
No issues on my end. Got the font I wanted, purchased it without any trouble, and downloaded it just fine. Haven't run into the problems other people seem to be having.
I tried using the font identification tool and got back a list of 71 different fonts. That's not really helpful when you're trying to find something specific.
They don't actually find the font you're looking for. Instead they push you toward similar fonts they designed themselves so they can sell them to you and avoid copyright issues. You'd think the font you pay for would at least be close to your sample, but it almost never is. They've got multiple website names tied to the same location in Massachusetts. Since they can't sell you a copyrighted font, they just recommend their own knockoffs regardless of how close they are to what you uploaded. This is basically fraud. Check the reviews elsewhere and you'll see the same complaints. This needs to stop.
Hands down the worst customer service I've ever dealt with. I sent videos, screenshots, everything to show my problem. The fonts that were shown in the interface weren't matching what I downloaded. The rep responded, then disappeared for about ten minutes. When they came back, they asked for a different screenshot than what I provided and wanted to see the whole page instead of just the problem area. When I checked, suddenly the fonts looked right. They admitted the ordering page didn't match what actually downloaded and then blamed me, saying I must have clicked something wrong. They absolutely refused to refund me. My only option was to contact my bank and report it as fraud with all the chat logs and proof. At least that worked. Don't buy from these people under any circumstances. Honestly, only after I told the rep they were useless did they finally process the refund. So that's something.
This site has never worked properly and keeps having problems. The way it's set up is terrible, and it stops loading fonts after you scroll through just a couple pages. Makes it really hard to actually search for what you need. The font identification tool is basically unusable. If they can't get their basic features working, why do they bother? This is frustrating for anyone trying to work with fonts.
This is what's killing professional fonts. Now we're stuck using Google and similar free options. I paid a lot for DIN Pro for a client presentation template. Microsoft PowerPoint lets you embed fonts so clients can use templates without installing anything. These fonts from this company don't work that way because of their usage restrictions. Same thing's probably going to happen with PDF files sent to printers. So these fonts and the policies behind them are basically useless. Looks like designers will be stuck using basic Arial from now on.
Useless service. Even with a high quality image, all I got back were random fonts with characters I couldn't even recognize. The design is also awful. And I'm 22, so if I'm having trouble navigating this, there's definitely a problem.
I bought a font I didn't need by accident. I contacted them immediately asking for my money back. I'm a repeat customer and run a motion design business, so I thought they'd work with me. Instead, they said I'd have to buy another font of equal value first, and then they'd refund the original purchase. Really? How is that acceptable customer service or even fair?
