What Shoppers Say About Primal Wear
Primal Wear receives predominantly negative feedback, with shoppers rating the store 1.2 out of 5 based on 5 reviews. While some reviewers acknowledge decent construction quality on jerseys and socks, along with fast shipping in certain cases, these positives are vastly outweighed by serious operational issues. The most consistent complaints center on sizing problems, particularly with women's clothing that shoppers report runs extremely small and tight, forcing customers to order men's sizes instead. Custom order experiences are also problematic, with customers reporting that the company implements its own design choices rather than honoring specific customization requests after extended back-and-forth communication.
Beyond product issues, shoppers highlight significant customer service failures. Multiple reviews document poor communication and extremely slow refund processing (one customer waited two months for refund confirmation), and there are also complaints about unexpected hidden charges when ordering internationally without adequate disclosure. These service and transparency problems appear to be the driving factors behind the overwhelmingly low ratings, suggesting that even when product quality meets expectations, the company's handling of orders, customization, returns, and international transactions leaves shoppers dissatisfied.

Sorted by: Most recentOverall, my experience wasn't great. The actual quality of their jerseys is decent from a construction standpoint. But if you want something custom made, you better be ready to accept whatever design choices they decide to make for you instead of what you're actually asking for. I spent a whole month going back and forth with their team trying to explain what I wanted, and it became clear they weren't going to get it. Ended up canceling the whole order because we just couldn't see eye to eye.
The women's sizing on these is seriously messed up. You'd think you're buying clothes for a tiny kid with no curves based on how they fit. Everything runs super small and tight. I'm 5'4, weigh about 115 pounds, and I've got an athletic build, but their women's stuff just doesn't work for my body. I've had to switch to ordering men's gear instead, which isn't ideal. Plus the jersey patterns are way too bold and loud for what I'm looking for.
I was super pumped to grab the Primal Wear Iron Maiden The Number of the Beast Helix 2.0 Jersey. The design is absolutely killer, really sleek and bold and captures that classic Iron Maiden vibe perfectly. Love how it looks. The material quality is nice too, which made me happy. But here's where things fell apart: the sizing is way off. I ordered a Medium based on their sizing guide, but it was way too tight. So I tried exchanging it for a Large. The Large is still snug though. I'm 5'10, 170 pounds, 33 inch waist and 41 inch chest, and according to their chart I should fit a Medium fine. Clearly their sizing chart doesn't match reality. The jersey itself is solid quality and looks fantastic, just the fit isn't working out. I'd say each size runs noticeably small. I still think the design and material are worth checking out, but definitely go a size up from what their chart tells you. Just prepare yourself that it might not fit how you're expecting.
The socks themselves are great and the company got my order to me super fast. No issues there. Here's my problem though: I ordered from their European site since I'm based in Europe, and I figured all the taxes and import fees would already be built into the price like they usually are. Never saw any kind of warning or heads up about extra charges at checkout. So when my package arrived, I got hit with an unexpected bill for almost 24 euros in taxes and imports on an 84 euro order. That's nearly 28 percent tacked on at the end. Really annoyed about this, and it feels like Primal deliberately keeps this information hidden from customers.
Honestly, their customer service is about as bad as it gets. I had a problem with something I bought and asked for my money back. Know how long it took for them to actually tell me they'd handle the refund? Two entire months. Two months just to get confirmation they'd even start the process. I was totally frustrated the whole time. What were they doing during all that? It was hands down the worst experience I've had ordering from them.
