What Shoppers Say About TOD’S
Tod's receives polarized reviews, with shoppers divided sharply between those praising exceptional in-store service and those frustrated by declining product quality. Positive reviewers highlight professional, attentive staff and managers who go the extra mile. However, the majority of reviews cite significant durability issues across multiple product categories, including belts falling apart after minimal wear, bag snaps breaking quickly, handles coming loose, squeaky driver mocs with shifting insoles, and shoes with defects that retailers refuse to address after the return window closes. Long-time customers note a marked decline in craftsmanship compared to products purchased decades ago, with some reporting that older Tod's items still perform reliably despite heavy use while newer purchases fail within weeks. At premium price points (600 dollars per pair for some items), shoppers express disappointment that products do not meet quality expectations or justify the cost.
Customers report mixed experiences with the company's return and warranty policies. While some note quick replacements during the return period, others encountered refusals to provide credit or compensation for defective items once the return deadline passed, even for unworn products. The contrast between highly rated customer service interactions and poor product quality creates frustration, with reviewers questioning whether the brand still stands behind its products as a luxury manufacturer should.

Sorted by: Most recentThe quality is absolutely terrible, don't throw your money away on it. Purchased a belt in June 2024 that's already falling apart after wearing it maybe ten times tops. Compare that to two belts from a different maker that I bought two decades ago and they're still holding up great.
My confidence in Tod's as a high-end brand has completely eroded after two disappointing purchases at their store. Both bags had defects from day one. The first one's snap broke quickly, but they replaced it fast so I tried again. The second bag's handle came loose and broke within a few uses. When I brought it back, they said it was out of stock with no replacement options. I asked if they could fix it, but six months later they said the maker wouldn't respond and they had no replacement parts. They offered store credit for what I paid, but why would I risk another broken product? I'm finished with this brand and won't spend any more money there. Take this as a heads up.
Fantastic service all around! The manager at the Tod's location really went the extra mile for me. I was honestly blown away by how professional and attentive everything was. Really grateful for the experience!
They sell defective products and refuse to help just because the return period has passed, even though the shoes haven't been worn. No credit or compensation offered whatsoever. They claim the law is on their side, but as a business, they should stand behind products that work as intended. I've been a long-time customer buying from Tod's and their related brands, and it's disappointing they won't reciprocate that loyalty.
These driver mocs are poorly made. Mine constantly squeak and the insole moves around with every step. I wouldn't recommend buying them. At 600 dollars per pair, they're definitely not worth the price.
I'm 61 and have spent a fortune on Tod's shoes over the decades, so I need to speak up about the decline in quality. This is specifically about the product, not the service. Back over a quarter century ago before production shifted elsewhere, I bought moccasins and boots that I still use regularly today. Despite getting heavy wear, they've held up beautifully. The leather has aged gracefully but even the soles are so tough they're barely worn. Not a single stitch or glue failure. Outstanding craftsmanship. Compare that to what they're making now overseas. I kept buying the same items thinking they'd maintain the same standards, but I was terribly mistaken. The rubber soles on recent moccasins began deteriorating within a few weeks.
At 61, I've bought more Tod's shoes than most people, so I feel obligated to share what I've seen. This isn't about service, it's quality. Let me compare then and now. I've been buying Tod's forever and always loved how stylish and comfortable they were. Back over 25 years ago before manufacturing moved, I got moccasins and ankle boots that I still wear today despite heavy use. The leather has aged naturally but the soles are incredibly durable, still unworn. Zero issues with stitching or glue. Really exceptional. Fast forward to today's production out of China. I kept buying the same styles thinking quality would stay consistent, but I was completely wrong. The new moccasins' rubber soles started falling apart after just a couple weeks.
Worst luxury brand experience ever. I ordered two pairs of shoes on July 3rd and realized hours later I could find them cheaper elsewhere. Requested cancellation the next day but was told I'd have to return instead. Got the order July 6th and asked for a return through their shop option with a QR code, but it didn't work there. After some back and forth, they agreed to send it back to Italy for me. The return landed in Italy July 18th with refund confirmation on July 19th, yet the money never showed up in my account weeks later. I've emailed repeatedly asking them to track down the refund details but haven't gotten any responses. This is my first and final purchase from Tod's. Won't be coming back.
Couldn't be happier with my experience. Placed an order for loafers and they arrived within three days coming all the way from Italy. The size wasn't quite right so I exchanged for a half size down three days later. Refund hit my account that very day. Amazing how quick and responsive they were, and the quality of the shoes is outstanding.
Really impressed with how fast everything was. Ordered loafers and had them in just three days after shipping from Italy to here. They were a bit roomy so I sent them back and got a smaller size three days later. Got my refund credited immediately. The whole process was smooth, customer service was top notch, and the shoes themselves are beautiful.
