Calphalon Reviews
What Shoppers Say About Calphalon
Calphalon receives overwhelmingly negative feedback from shoppers, with the vast majority reporting serious product and service issues. The most common complaints center on warranty claims being denied or lost in the system, nonstick coatings that wear away or peel within 1 to 3 years despite proper care, and pans that warp or develop heat damage under normal cooking conditions. Customers also report poor customer service responses and frustrating return processes with expensive shipping requirements.
A very small minority of shoppers appear satisfied with their purchases, but positive feedback is sparse in the available reviews. The consistency of complaints about warranty problems and premature product failure suggests these are systemic issues rather than isolated incidents. Many reviewers express regret about their purchases and advise others to avoid the brand.

Sorted by: Most recentTheir warranty means absolutely nothing because they don't actually honor it. I'm clearly not the only person dealing with this. Filed a claim on a warped pan that was definitely covered under their lifetime warranty a few weeks back. When I followed up with their support team today, they claimed they had zero record of it. That's garbage and I know exactly what's happening here - they're using this tactic to wear down customers so we just give up and go away. It's a common scam nowadays. Don't be fooled into thinking premium prices mean you're actually protected by their warranty. The reality is you're just buying overpriced cookware with zero real backing. They count on people getting tired and moving on. Not me. I'm taking this to consumer protection agencies and the BBB. Their overall rating speaks volumes about who they really are as a company.
What a disappointment. Bought a Calphalon pan about 2.5 years back and the nonstick coating inside is completely shot, worn down to bare metal across half the surface. I took care of it properly too - no whisks, no metal utensils, never put it in the dishwasher. There's also a strange bulge on the bottom that looks like heat damage from normal stovetop use. This cookware simply doesn't hold up. The real kicker is how their customer service handled my complaint. I sent them detailed photos of the damage and they just flat out denied my warranty claim, acted dismissive, and made it clear they didn't value my business or their own products. This isn't cookware built to last. It's clearly designed to fail and get replaced. I've talked to my family, friends, and several professional cooks I know, and we've all decided we're done with Calphalon for good.
Their warranty is completely useless. When I tried to get a replacement pot, they denied my claim because I didn't have the receipt. This set was purchased from them 8 to 10 years ago. Who really keeps receipts for that long? They should have records of their own sales. This is poor service combined with cookware that just doesn't last. Super disappointed.
My son gave me two complete cookware sets for Christmas just over a year ago. The nonstick coating started peeling off and the pans began warping. I bought the cleaning products they recommended but nothing helped - they look aged and worn out. When I first reported the issue, they basically told me I wasn't being thorough enough with my complaint. Two sets, both worthless within 12 months.
Think twice before ordering from their website unless you're 100% sure you're keeping it. We ordered a pan that turned out to be way smaller than advertised. It shipped from their California warehouse, but returning it? They required us to send it to their Ohio facility. The shipping cost we had to pay was actually more than what we paid for the pan. In today's world of easy online returns, their policy is absolutely absurd and frankly makes no sense. We won't be ordering from them again, and if they don't fix this, it's going to really hurt their business.
I've seen aluminum foil hold up better than these so-called nonstick products. You'll be throwing your money away on this brand and you'll regret the purchase. Don't bother.
Got a Calphalon Classic set and we've treated it really well. It's only 18 months old. We've exclusively used wooden and plastic utensils, even their own branded plastic tools, and only hand washed everything. The cooking surface is covered in tiny scratches and recently we're seeing actual chips where the coating has flaked off. When we complained, they basically acted like it wasn't their problem. These pans work okay if you want something temporary that costs a lot of money for a short lifespan. We're moving back to our 40-year-old stainless steel cookware and seasoned cast iron that actually stands the test of time. Nonstick coatings are just a waste at this point.
Been a loyal Calphalon customer for over 20 years, spending thousands on their products. Recently purchased a nonstick skillet that's a few years old started showing coating failure. I submitted a warranty claim with photos and purchase information, but they rejected it because I didn't have the original receipt. Come on, who holds onto receipts for cookware that long? Seems like Calphalon isn't interested in standing behind what they sell.
Got a damaged stock pot shipped directly from Calphalon. They responded quickly and sent me an RMA label to ship it back. I returned the damaged product as instructed but never got any confirmation they received it. Over a month goes by with no word from them. I reached back out to my customer rep and still haven't heard anything back. If you're considering buying Calphalon, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. And definitely don't order straight from their website.
Just received a Calphalon espresso machine that was DOA right out of the box. Reached out to their customer support online and got a response within 24 hours asking for photos and video footage, which I provided. They immediately offered to have me ship the unit to them with a prepaid label, so I sent it the next day. It arrived at their facility after 5 days, and on day 6 they emailed saying they were locating a replacement machine. A day later they got back to me saying they couldn't find the exact same model but wanted to offer either an upgraded replacement or a $400 credit. We took the upgrade and it's arriving tomorrow. Total time from initial contact to resolution was about 10 days. I have to say their support team really went above and beyond to make this right. Definitely planning to shop with them again in the future.
