What Shoppers Say About Carbon2Cobalt
Carbon2Cobalt receives predominantly negative feedback, with 2.0 out of 5 from 22 shoppers. The most consistent complaints center on quality issues, including cheap fabric that wears poorly, color variations that appear dull compared to product photos, and sizing problems where garments fit unexpectedly small or short. Customer service accessibility is a major pain point, with shoppers reporting nonfunctional contact email addresses, inability to ship to addresses different from billing addresses, and long hold times when calling. A small segment of loyal customers report consistently positive experiences and praise the store's style and build quality, but these voices are significantly outnumbered.
Shoppers considering Carbon2Cobalt should be aware of the high volume of quality and service complaints before purchasing. The store's website usability issues, combined with reports of merchandise not matching product photography, suggest customers should have realistic expectations and thorough communication channels in place before ordering, particularly for gifts or higher-priced items.
Customer Reviews (22)
Sorted by: Most recentThe negative reviews I've come across appear pretty legitimate based on my own run-in with them. People say their stuff runs small and then shrinks more, which checks out. The customer service reps give you this dismissive vibe like something's wrong with how you look if items don't fit. I'm in decent shape and not overweight so that's not the issue. They wouldn't even accept unused items for return, so I basically had to get aggressive to finally get my money back. The verdict: looks good in photos but the actual products are mediocre and the service is terrible while prices are astronomical. Pretty typical behavior from a southern California retailer if you ask me, which is why I tend to avoid CA companies altogether. They run things pretty differently out there. Sure wish California was cool again like it used to be.
Absolutely ridiculous! Got a pair of $69 sweatpants with both back pockets completely stitched shut. The chat rep claimed this was to keep the "shape" of the item. She suggested I grab a thread cutter and rip it myself. I had no clue which threads to cut, and she told me to take them to a tailor. Says most online companies do this. That's completely false. For $69 sweatpants, this is just outrageous. Their factory messed up and didn't catch it, now they're dodging responsibility. Most companies would replace the item no questions asked, but C2C wants to give me the runaround. Honestly disappointed since I've bought their fleece pants before without this problem.
Should give them negative stars if possible. Ordered my wife some pajamas and socks on the 11th and was promised delivery by the 24th for the pj's with socks coming in January. The shipping date keeps getting pushed back. Now they're saying March. Winter stuff arriving in spring is useless. Stay away from this place.
Wish I'd found the other reviews before buying. Maybe I can help someone else avoid this. Don't buy from them. Don't count on them doing right by you. I purchased a $95 tee that I'd been wanting for ages. Finally went for it. Once I washed it, it looked nothing like the photos no matter how hard I tried to iron it out. The return policy says only unwashed items qualify, so I sent it back anyway since you can't know the actual quality without washing. They rejected the return and sent it back. Even wrote "covered in hair" in their notes. Their support team won't budge. I'm stuck with it. I should probably dispute it with my card company, but technically Carbon has the right to refuse under their terms.
When they say their chat support is available, it would help if someone actually responded. I never got a single reply. And honestly, for what I spent, this company isn't worth anyone's effort or money.
Can't get a refund. Support ignores you. You're stuck with whatever you order. The shirt feels like a rag.
Still getting catalogs six months later after I called asking them to stop. Had to tell them someone at my address passed away and we didn't want more mail. They promised to take care of it. Now catalogs keep showing up addressed to that person AND I'm getting stuff from what looks like a related company called 32 Bar Blues. Can't get these people to quit mailing us stuff. Never even bought from them and don't plan to.
Way too expensive! The material shrinks like crazy when you wash it, so order up a size in shirts. The buttons are terrible quality. I spent $800 on just 6 pieces and could have gotten way better stuff at a nearby boutique with superior quality, easier returns, and way better service.
I noticed C2C gets some bad reviews and wanted to share my actual experience. My package showed up early, which was nice. Grabbed the winterberry plaid shirt and cocoon coatigan in small. Both fit perfectly and the material is really nice quality - not stiff and not flimsy either. The plaid shirt's a bit shorter than I'd like since it's cotton and will shrink, and I can tell a medium would swallow me. Still fits great though and feels soft. The buttons, especially on the coatigan, are kind of thin and seem fragile when washing, but that's really my only gripe. For what C2C charges, they should upgrade to sturdier buttons. The coatigan is super comfy and I'm wearing it right now. Will definitely order again, though I'd love to see them improve their whole return situation. Haven't dealt with exchanges or returns myself so can't speak to that. Bottom line, I'm really happy with my purchase overall.
