What Shoppers Say About Magazines.com
Magazines.com is rated 1.0 out of 5 by 24 shoppers, with the overwhelming majority reporting serious problems with billing, customer service, and delivery. Reviewers consistently report unauthorized charges due to aggressive auto-renewal practices, failure to send promised cancellation or renewal notifications, and difficulty reaching customer support or accessing account management tools. Many shoppers say they had to dispute charges with their credit card companies as the only way to recover money.
Beyond billing issues, customers report magazines never arriving, unexplained cancellations of active subscriptions, and a cumbersome cancellation process involving automated menus that are difficult to navigate. Those who do reach a person report long wait times and overseas call centers. The site's technology is described as slow and unreliable, with non-functional password reset and account access features. Shoppers consistently characterize their experience as a scam designed to trap customers in unwanted charges.

Sorted by: Most recentThis whole thing is ridiculous and really upset me. Nobody answers when you try to cancel and I didn't even know auto renewal was turned on. They charged my account $106. Steer clear of getting magazines through this website.
They charged me $108 last year for two People subscriptions, and neither I nor my friend ever got a single copy. Nobody will respond when I try to complain, and now they've hit me with another $113 charge for subscriptions I'm sure won't arrive either. Don't go with this company.
No warning about auto renewal and they just processed it without asking. Can't reach an actual person to talk to.
They had the lowest price I could find for People Magazine, so I went with them. Big mistake. Days after ordering, I got an email saying my purchase wasn't complete. I found a subscription in my cart and thought maybe I messed up, so I ordered it. Then a popup showed asking about another magazine. I said no thanks the first time. Second popup, same answer. Third time, that no thanks button somehow turned into a purchase button without warning me. My card got charged twice for unwanted copies plus the sneaky popup charge. I looked at my card and saw the original order was already paid. I went back and cancelled those two new charges they snuck in. They never responded.
They sent me an expired magazine for my first of seven issues. After I requested a refund, they tacked on a $4.00 charge for that stale issue I got on May 21, 2024, even though the cover says 'display until Mar. 1, 2024.'
Got an old magazine as my opening issue out of 7 total. When I asked them to refund me, they charged $4.00 for that same old issue I got on May 21, 2024. The magazine literally said 'display until Mar. 1, 2024' right on it.
Got one digital magazine by email out of the four I selected. That's all. Same as what others are saying in their reviews, this company is running a complete scam.
I got one digital magazine sent to my email out of the four options I had picked. That's it, nothing else. I have to agree with everyone else leaving reviews here, this outfit is totally fraudulent.
I purchased an annual Atomic Ranch subscription for my son-in-law. The first month he got duplicate copies of one issue and then nothing. Customer service at magazines.com said to call Atomic Ranch myself, but they were unresponsive. After contacting magazines.com asking for a refund, I only got reimbursed for half the cost. I won't be going back.
I bought a yearly subscription to Atomic Ranch for my son-in-law. He got two copies of the same issue and nothing after that. The magazines.com customer service people told me to reach out to Atomic Ranch directly, but nobody called back. I requested a refund from magazines.com but they only gave me half the subscription amount back. Not ordering again.
