What Shoppers Say About Chrome Industries
Chrome Industries receives polarized feedback, with shoppers split between those satisfied with the brand and many expressing serious frustration with product quality and warranty claims. The most common complaint centers on the company's lifetime warranty promise, which multiple reviewers say is not honored as advertised. Shoppers report receiving bags with manufacturing defects like peeling waterproof coatings, failed stitching, and broken hardware, only to have warranty claims denied or have the company suggest they pay for repairs themselves or hire a tailor. Several customers also cite poor and dismissive customer service, describing representatives as rude and unwilling to engage with complaints.
On the positive side, some shoppers remain loyal to Chrome Industries and appear satisfied with their purchases, representing roughly one-third of reviewers. However, the negative reviews highlight a significant gap between the brand's premium pricing and actual product durability, along with a disconnect between advertised warranty coverage and what the company actually provides. Former customers note the brand's quality has declined over time, and several indicate they will not make future purchases due to these experiences.

Sorted by: Most recentDon't trust their lifetime warranty promise. My backpack's waterproof coating started falling apart and flaking all over my clothes every time I use it, which ruins the waterproofing. The stitching on the strap came undone too. Both of these are obvious manufacturing issues, but they won't actually cover it under their so-called warranty.
These messenger bags say they come with lifetime repairs, except that's not actually what happens. When I first bought my bag, I was told they offered free lifetime repairs. Then the webbing started having issues and they told me to buy replacement webbing and take it to a tailor. The hardware failed on me next, and they said to just order a new one online myself. The bags look pretty good, but getting misled about what the warranty covers really bothers me.
Don't spend your money on them. They used to be solid but not anymore. I won't be buying from them again. The quality has gone downhill, their customer service barely exists, and there's really no way to escalate complaints or get someone to listen. Really disappointing because they were actually good once.
My bag showed up with obvious problems right out of the box. They said no to the lifetime warranty. The customer service was rude and unprofessional: even after they agreed it was made wrong, they told me to fix it myself or get rid of it. It's really let down given the prices they charge for their stuff.
Had a really bad experience with their customer service after pointing out what was clearly a design problem. Would definitely not suggest reaching out to them about anything.
Their customer service is pretty much worthless. I reached out about a defect that should have been covered under their lifetime guarantee, but they just dragged out the email chain and ignored my messages. They basically never actually tried to fix the problem. I'm not buying anything from them ever again.
The chest strap literally fell right off my Yalta 3.0 bag after just regular use. I hadn't even had it that long when it happened. Customer service suggested some crazy complicated way to reattach it that doesn't even make sense. Then they told me to go find someone to fix it myself. The bag clearly has serious construction problems, but they wouldn't repair or replace it even though they supposedly have a lifetime warranty. That warranty is basically just marketing nonsense. Their support team is pretty unprofessional in how they talk to you and respond. I'd skip buying from this company. Their stuff falls apart way too fast.

I'm really, really pleased with this purchase. Bought a Citizen messenger bag about 13 or 14 years ago and it's been my reliable daily bag ever since. Over the last few months the shoulder strap started fraying in the middle, which made it tough to move the buckle and put the bag at risk. I got in touch with Chrome to see if they'd back their warranty. I'll be honest, I figured they probably wouldn't help or would give me a hard time. That's what happened with my Timbuk 2 bag after similar wear. Chrome went a different direction though. The support person answered fast and after they asked for a couple extra pictures they gave me a discount code for a new bag and I just had to cover shipping. The replacement is actually better and bigger than the old one and I seriously couldn't be happier.
