What Shoppers Say About Chrome Industries
Chrome Industries receives polarized feedback, with shoppers split between those satisfied with the brand and many expressing serious frustration with product quality and warranty claims. The most common complaint centers on the company's lifetime warranty promise, which multiple reviewers say is not honored as advertised. Shoppers report receiving bags with manufacturing defects like peeling waterproof coatings, failed stitching, and broken hardware, only to have warranty claims denied or have the company suggest they pay for repairs themselves or hire a tailor. Several customers also cite poor and dismissive customer service, describing representatives as rude and unwilling to engage with complaints.
On the positive side, some shoppers remain loyal to Chrome Industries and appear satisfied with their purchases, representing roughly one-third of reviewers. However, the negative reviews highlight a significant gap between the brand's premium pricing and actual product durability, along with a disconnect between advertised warranty coverage and what the company actually provides. Former customers note the brand's quality has declined over time, and several indicate they will not make future purchases due to these experiences.

Sorted by: Most recentLooks good but the actual quality is pretty disappointing. Not worth paying for. I'm skeptical they're even manufactured where they claim.
Picked up a Chrome bag on clearance for about 90 bucks a couple years back. After using it hard during that time one of the seams at the bottom ripped and basically made it unusable. I was honestly worried they'd give me the runaround or charge me a ton to use the warranty, but the process was super simple. I sent some photos and within a few days they sent me a voucher good for any bag. I ended up getting one worth over 200 bucks and only paid for shipping. Both bags have been really solid, and the new one is particularly great. Their warranty seems to actually mean something and they follow through on it. The quality of their products keeps getting better too. This is the kind of company that gets loyal customers for life.
Grabbed a pair of shorts for 130 bucks and they fit way too tight. The site said returns had to go through their customer service team, but there's no phone line to call anyone and the company number doesn't actually work. The automated message says you have to email them to be fair to everyone. I sent over 12 emails across several months and got absolutely zero responses. Now I'm stuck with expensive shorts that don't fit and I can't return them. I've never seen another company handle things this badly, especially one charging premium prices. I used to buy their clothes pretty regularly but I'm done. This is honestly the worst customer service I've dealt with at any company. It's basically a scam at this point.
I've got 2 bags from them now. Why'd I buy another one? Because the first one just wouldn't break no matter how much I used it! The cool metal hardware is honestly a head turner when I'm snapping it shut. These things literally last forever and they look better as they age. Waterproof, tough against damage. They handle everything. Survived packed subway cars in Shanghai, snowy streets in Sweden, everything. They just keep going and going. Totally worth every penny you spend on them.
The actual products aren't bad, but I'm really concerned about how they handle customer service. My bag went missing during shipping, and when I asked about it, they basically said we'll just give you your money back in a week. Why not actually try to help find a replacement or offer something else available instead? I was genuinely interested in their stuff too. It feels like they just take the easy route and refund you without really thinking about what the customer actually needs. Honestly disappointed they don't put more effort into solving problems the right way. Thanks to whoever I dealt with at support.
Had an issue with a bag I got at their Manhattan store location. I emailed them and they responded pretty quickly with some good questions to help me out. After a few emails back and forth they gave me a really nice credit for another purchase. It's seriously one of the best customer service experiences I've had from any company, plus their bags are really excellent. Both the design and how they hold up in daily life are top notch.
I had an issue with a bag I bought at their Manhattan location. I sent them an email and they got back to me really fast with smart follow-up questions. After a few back and forth messages, they hooked me up with a generous credit toward my next purchase. This was honestly one of the best customer service experiences I've had anywhere, and their bags themselves are fantastic too. The design is thoughtful and they work great for everyday use.
Got a pack several years back that had a broken zipper. The company said they'd send me a replacement but never came through on it. Fast forward a few months and I ordered another one, sent the old pack back in that new box with a letter asking them to replace it. Nothing. Radio silence. The newer pack works fine and the zipper's good, but it doesn't feel as sturdy. They clearly put real thought into what they make, but I'd definitely call their integrity a total fail here. Really disappointed.
WATCH OUT! Probably one of the worst online shopping experiences of my life. I bought a bag in January and it fell apart almost right away. All the reflective coating peeled off within weeks, and by May the seams started separating. When I tried to use the warranty they wanted me to pay around 50 bucks to ship it back with insurance (I'm in Canada), wouldn't give me a loaner, and only offered 25% of what I paid as a credit instead of the full replacement. Plus, to get that 25% they wanted me to ruin the bag and send photos. Ridiculous. I spent so much time dealing with their support process and got absolutely nothing out of it. No real help, no compromise, nothing to make it right. I'm putting that money toward Mission Workshop instead because they treat their customers way better. This company has terrible support policies, unreasonable warranty rules, and their quality is really not good. Skip them completely.
I've had my Chrome Messenger bag going strong for 3 years and it's honestly one of my best purchases ever. The design is incredible and it's built to last. I was a little nervous about spending the money when I first bought it since I wasn't doing great financially, but I'm so happy I went for it.
