What Shoppers Say About Reef
Reef is rated 1.6 out of 5 by 24 shoppers, with a majority expressing serious dissatisfaction. The most common complaint centers on product durability: multiple reviewers report shoes and sandals failing or falling apart within hours of wear, which is particularly frustrating for long-time customers who recall the brand's products lasting years. Additional frustrations include inflexible order management (inability to modify orders after submission, unresponsive customer service when addressing shipping errors), unexpected return fees, and what some perceive as declining quality and corner-cutting in construction.
A small minority of shoppers give positive ratings, with some appreciating the product selection and design. However, positive feedback is vastly outweighed by reports of premature product failure, poor customer service responsiveness, and frustration with return policies. Several reviewers identify themselves as formerly loyal customers who feel let down by recent changes in quality and service standards.

Sorted by: Most recentDO NOT ORDER - the shoes you get won't be the size you paid for. I ordered UK 5, Euro 38, US 8 and they sent me UK 4.5, Euro 37.5, US 7 instead. The labeling on both the box and the inside of the shoe confirmed the wrong size. I submitted an email with photos, but they argued that because I ordered 2 years ago, that's why it was wrong. That doesn't make any sense. Next they said it was a sticker issue on the box that they were already aware of. None of that's accurate. Just excuse piled on top of excuse.
DO NOT ORDER - they ship you the wrong shoe size. I ordered UK 5, Euro 38, US 8. What showed up was UK 4.5, Euro 37.5, US 7. Both the box label and the shoe tag confirmed this. I emailed them with pictures and everything, but they claimed it was because I ordered it 2 years ago. That makes no sense at all. Then they blamed a sticker issue on the box that they supposedly already knew about. That's not true either. It's just excuse after excuse after excuse.
Watch out if you buy Reef sandals through marketplace vendors like Amazon. They pocket your money, never actually send the sandals, tell the platform they delivered them, and use the third party seller as a shield so they don't have to give you what you paid for. Ripping off people on fixed incomes and disabled folks is a despicable business model.
Be careful ordering Reef sandals from marketplace sellers like Amazon. They'll take your payment, not actually send you anything, then tell the platform they shipped it anyway. They hide behind the third party seller so they don't have to deliver what you paid for. Taking money from seniors and disabled people who rely on fixed income is a despicable way to run a business.
They're now shipping through "Deliver Direct" instead of USPS, UPS, or FedEx, which is a shipping company nobody's heard of. My package was supposed to arrive 3 days ago but tracking shows failed delivery. I live on a military base and called Reef twice, plus left 2 messages for Deliver Direct about the issue since they should handle military addresses the same as any other carrier has for decades. Why did they let me order to this address if they can't actually deliver here? The people at Reef customer service were unhelpful, and Deliver Direct never called back. I'm never ordering from Reef again.
Reef is now using a company called "Deliver Direct" to ship orders instead of USPS, UPS, or FedEx. I've never even heard of this outfit before. My stuff was supposed to get here 3 days ago, but the tracking shows a failed delivery attempt. I live on an Air Force Base and called Reef twice plus left 2 messages for Deliver Direct explaining that they should be able to handle military addresses just fine since every other carrier has managed it for years. If they can't deliver to my address, why does their website let me place an order in the first place? Customer service at Reef has been terrible, and Deliver Direct hasn't bothered to call back. Won't be purchasing from Reef ever again.
Grabbed Homey slippers on Cyber Monday and got my order confirmation right away. Next morning comes the cancellation notice citing "high demand." I hop on their site and that exact color and size are still showing available. Ring them up and get told their system is outdated and the slippers are actually gone. No offer to switch colors or backorder at the sale price since the promotion ended. Request a supervisor and she says "They're just going to tell you the same thing" (wonderful service). Ivan gets on the line with no better answers about why inventory still shows online. He tries offering me the 30% Cyber Monday discount. But hold up, that discount is on the $75 regular price. They had them marked $50 when I ordered and I already got 30% off that. I'm getting two discounts stacked? That's the whole story. Their website pricing messed up and they don't want to honor what I ordered for. So they just canceled instead.
I picked up a pair of their Homey slippers during their Cyber Monday sale. Got the order confirmation email right away. The very next day, boom, cancellation email saying "high demand." I check their website and the same color and size are still listed as available. Called them back and the rep said their system wasn't up to date in 2024 and they were actually out. But no option to backorder or switch colors at the same sale price since the deal was over. Asked for a supervisor and got told "He's just going to tell you the same thing" (great customer experience there). Ivan picks up the phone and doesn't have any better explanation for why items still show in stock. He offers me the 30% Cyber Monday discount. Hold on though, that's 30% off the full $75 price tag. The site had them at $50 and I got 30% off that already. So I'm getting 30% off twice? Now it makes sense why they killed my order. Someone messed up the website pricing and I was about to get a double discount. They'd rather cancel than honor the agreed upon price.
I purchased Reef Cushion Vista HI slides. First time wearing them and I developed a blister on my foot, even though I only had them on for a little while. They advertise these as "ridiculously comfortable," which is misleading. The worst part is they've refused to replace them, offer a refund, or send me a different pair. At over $50 a pair, I expected them to actually deliver on their promises. I learned my lesson the hard way and won't shop with them again.
I bought a pair of Reef Cushion Vista HI slide sandals. The first time I wore them, I got a blister on the side of my foot, and I wasn't even wearing them that long. The advertising says they're "ridiculously comfortable," but that's totally false. To make it worse, they won't replace them, refund me, or give me a different pair. These aren't cheap shoes either, over $50, so I expected the product to match the marketing. Lesson learned. I won't be shopping with them again.
