What Shoppers Say About Overton’s
Overtown's has received uniformly negative feedback from shoppers, with every review rating the store at one star. Customers report serious issues with product authenticity and quality, including expired safety equipment sold without disclosure, counterfeit items, and defective merchandise. The return process emerges as a major pain point, with shoppers citing long delays in receiving refunds (sometimes spanning months), high return shipping costs charged to customers, slow shipping label generation, and inflexible policies that deny returns based on strict time windows regardless of product defects.
Customer service interactions have also drawn criticism for being unhelpful and dismissive. Shoppers describe unhelpful representatives, runarounds when calling about refund status, and poor communication regarding order status and modifications. Shipping problems compound customer frustration, with orders arriving late or with items shipped in wrong packages, contributing to an overall picture of operational dysfunction and customer dissatisfaction.

Sorted by: Most recentThey sold me two life jackets that were almost expired and didn't tell me. When I called about it, someone named Joy said they were clearance items sold as-is with no returns. I thought I was getting a deal, not expired safety equipment. If you buy anything from them, check the expiration dates right away.
They've been holding my return money for almost three months now. Every time I call to check if they've sent the check, nobody has any idea what's going on. It's the same runaround every single time.
I got ripped off buying a high-end slalom ski from this company. The product was clearly defective, losing all its color without any use at all. It turned out the ski was a cheap knockoff from overseas with no serial number, and when I asked for help, they refused because I didn't catch it within 90 days. The actual manufacturer wouldn't help either since they claimed it was older stock, even though Overtons sold it as new.
Wanted a handheld radio for the Fourth of July and called to add more items to my order. Customer service told me it was already in the queue to ship that same day, so I couldn't add anything. Their service attitude was terrible. The radio finally showed up on July 7th, well after the holiday. I'm done doing business with this company.
Ordering is fine with these guys, but the return process is a total headache. You pay your own shipping costs even if it's the wrong size, and if your stuff came from a third-party seller you're paying full retail shipping just to send something back. Getting a shipping label takes up to forty-eight hours according to them, though I waited a full week. It's just not worth the hassle. Unless they fix this they'll be out of business soon.
Worst purchase ever. They shipped someone else's package with their label, then shipped my stuff on a second package with my info. I called so they'd rush my actual order before the holiday but it was still late. This place is extremely unprofessional and I'll never shop there again.
Bought woven vinyl marine flooring back in early May with an expected delivery window of 7-10 days according to their site. When nothing showed up, I reached out to both the company and the vendor around mid-May. Turns out the product was backordered the whole time and nobody bothered to tell me upfront. Now my customer is mad at me and there's nothing I can do about it. This level of service is completely unacceptable.
Dropped over four thousand dollars on boat seats and it's been nothing but trouble from start to finish. Some items came in damaged. The pricing showed pedestals included but they weren't. The construction is sloppy with terrible stitching. Missing fasteners and bolts to secure anything. Customer service reps talk over you and don't listen. Do not waste your money on this company.
Purchased a Gladiator Super Brawler three-person towable tube back in late January and stored it at home. First time using it was summer on a calm lake at around 24 mph with two adults for about thirty minutes. The tube was obviously defective, with the back zipper completely ripped open from its seam and the inner bladder all bunched up. Water filled it and we could barely get it back to shore. Could've seriously hurt my grandkids who were supposed to ride it next. I contacted Overtons through email and phone and talked to supervisors, but they just kept saying it was outside the one-year warranty window. Unacceptable response to a safety issue.
